fun fact The film was originally meant to be released straight-to-streaming on Netflix until Jordan Peele saw the film and, feeling that it deserved a theatrical release instead, acquired it from Netflix under his Monkeypaw Productions banner, which has a distribution deal with Universal Pictures and one fuck up fact Dev Patel suffered a number of injuries during the filming of the movie which included a broken hand, two broken toes, a torn shoulder, and an eye infection.

Monkey fighting against Authority is a theme that happened in many Asian myths. The Monkey in Indian myth usually uses a Mace as weapon but in Cambodia and Thailand, the Monkey used a dagger or short sword which is similar to the Main Character in this movie who use a knife.

It’s actually so crazy how realistic this story is. I went into this thinking it was gonna be a nothing but action sequence movie, like John Wick. It’s sad that there are so many villages in india that constantly get plundered for their land by corrupt politicians. Dev Patel conveyed this into an amazing revenge story. Fantastic for a directorial debut!

The full version of Dana dana dan in the movie is great and is pretty dark. Bloodywood's an underrated Indian metal band. The movie's a criticsm of the ruling party BJP although more accurately, the religious organisation that party is associated with the RSS which has been associated with a Hindu supremacy ideology to oversimplify it.

When I see a channel like dos cavazos do something like a 3 idiots reaction, it becomes one of their most watched videos.
