I almost never leave replies, but this video is the reason that I was able to install this fan yesterday. The instructions that came with the fan were poorly written without much detail. Thanks a lot for this. I was wondering why the damper wouldn't move like I thought it should and never even saw the tape until I saw this video and went looking for it. I was completely lost on the electrical stuff that the included instructions breezed over and taking the fan apart made assembly easier.

Thanks for the instruction...your video not only let me know I could do this ( albeit within 80 CFM fan) but it was also my exact wiring situation. Now I don't have to cut a hole for a new switch, run new wiring, call the electrician, bang my head against the wall. You rock.

Jon. THANK YOU. I installed one 7 months ago. It was horrendous. Your video made it so much easier. I'd advise anyone who is replacing to video their wiring before undoing.

Thank you so much! Your instructions were so much more helpful and I managed not to electrocute myself. Either most of these manuals are useless, or they expect someone to have done it before (or be an electrician?!?).

Thanks so much for the video! It was extremely helpful! I bought the same vent fan but the cutout in the ceiling is too big! This vent fan is smaller than the old one I had. The cutout in my ceiling is about 9x9 inches and the housing on this vent fan is about 8x8. Any advice on how I can fix that to make it work? Thanks in advance!

You can always make a ground just has to be grounded find something that can be grounded Like your water lines and throw a line on it and a copper wire or a green wire up to it and from it

Take those bulging screws out and make some pilot holes on the inside of the box sides. Then screw sideways horizontally from inside the box through the metal to your framing.

In a fully enveloped system whatever loss of vapor barrier you get by installing this vent is made up by the fact that it is metal and also that is an exhaust product

Help? Fan runs Backwards and blows the heat/cold from outside to inside my bathroom. I had the same vent fan light combo wired into my bathroom to replace the old single bulb. It is wired into the light switch, so when you turn on the light switch, light and fan come on at same time. Hope someone can help.
@Jonehughes6 ай бұрын
Hi Jeffrey Since those fan motors cannot run backwards The only thing I can suggest is you have an obstruction Double check that the flapper opens all the way open and if not an obstruction there and then in the pipe there's no obstruction in the pipe either because something is pushing the air back and it's not the fan
@Jonehughes6 ай бұрын
Check the video at 5 minutes and 45 seconds and watch the flapper move

@@Jonehughes I went to bathroom with a ladder to check on the inside, but it is too high for me to get to it and check for obstructions, the outside, where the vent comes out is too far for me to see if it is blocked. It is about 11 feet high from ground level. I will see if I can get someone younger and able to walk and climb better than me. I appreciate the advice and help. ty

Very helpful video in understanding how to install this garbage. I would suggest not taking the motor out as the flimsy casing gets out of shape when trying to set it in the hole. After...the holes don't line up for reinstalling.
