In which I take a cheap premade reverb board and turn it into a cheap Eurorack reverb/echo module.

Thanks for the idea, I was going the raw PT2399 + passives route and using the module ended up being much quicker and cleaner!

I've had one of these circuits sitting around for a while, and just thought of adding it to my eurorack setup. Good to know it works that easy!

Thank you for a very informative and interesting video. I purchased one of these modules and found it to be good value. I diverted the delayed signal to be independent of the main signal which allows the module to be used in an audio mixer Aux buss.

This is excellent! I was experimenting with the same board on my channel for guitar, with the intention of setting up a small Eurorack style effects unit eventually (too busy lately) - I love your set up. Look forward to watching more!

Thanks! I'm an acoustic guitarist making my own effects system by hacking into cheap stuff no longer useful or seriously cheap. His videos are excellent for a college dropout non scientist looking for what musicians overlook: a new sound from the bottom up.

huh. I thought you were going the DSP100 Reverb on this video :) Well... I soldered up the PT2399 from scratch and I think you got the good end of the deal on this one because not having to solder all those fiddly passives that come with doing the PT2399 is probably worth $2.50.

Hey Analog Output. Did you ever get around to doing the C17 mod? I’m very new to all this, so just wondered if you could give me any direction as to how you did it please? Is it just a case of soldering straight onto one of the C17 legs? If so which one? Cheers, Ed

Sounds pretty good in low fi way. Just ordered a few boards then found this vid. I want use for guitar so thinking a preamp circuit. I’m assuming it has line level input resistance? Have to unsolder that reverb pot and run wires to to top of the case. Add a switch, dc jack etc..should be fun

Yes an echo/FX box built around a bunch of these could be outrageous! Working on a guitar/synth project too. Keep us posted on your progress!

Can you do a vid for a mix or wet/dry potentiometer

Does it have an amplified output? Will it drive a small speaker or will I need an LM386 or something?

So with a OpAmp buffering/and Level adjust you could Delay EuroRack levels? So not only delay audio but control voltage?

thank you for the guide video.. I had tried them and the sound coming out from the module is pretty soft volume when listening direct to my headphone. How do I add signal buffer between the module? cheers!

A question probably best answered in a forum. If you post it here lookmumnocomputer.discourse.group/t/cheap-pt2399-reverb-delay-module-diy/801 someone will probably have some ideas.

You should add a wet/dry mix potentiometer and do a video of it

should pretty much just be signal in going to the wiper of a pot and then one leg of the pot going to the board input and then passive mixing the other leg w/ output no?

Thanks... great tutorial Is the extra pot a 50 k analog? And is pin 1 and two connected to each other and pin 3 with the extra 2k resistor?
@analog_output
@analog_output 3 жыл бұрын
See here analogoutputblog.wordpress.com/2020/01/31/cause-for-delay/ . It's a 50k linear pot in series with a 2.2k resistor. The order doesn't matter but I connected left pad to resistor, resistor to pin 1, pin 3 to right pad, and pin 2 to... either pin 1 or pin 3, I don't remember. In fact I did one and found it worked backwards so switched it to the other.

@@analog_output Hm, thanks for the explanation, but these details should matter, really. Especially for beginners, things like that would greatly help, instead of lapidary but vague statements.

Hello. Explain how to install the potentiometer? One contact is connected on the board, what is the second contact connected to? I do not see a complete electrical circuit on the board.

Is that CUMBIA music playing when you first demonstrate the circuit board?! It definitely has similarities to Cumbia if it is not. I love practically all music that comes from the Caribbean. Very good project idea, especially adding in the delay time control. I wonder just how difficult it would be to use this in (more or less) implementing the Karplus Strong physical modeling algorithm. Karplus Strong can generate some amazing bass sounds. THANKS FOR SHARING!!

I found the chip is really sensitive to input signal strength, if it's too high the feedback effect can quickly get out of control.

thanks . hi will a 10k Potentiometers work please
@analog_output
@analog_output 3 жыл бұрын
It'll work, although it won't give you as large a range of delay time as the 50k pot. With a 2k resistor in series, 50k will give you 52 to > 350 ms, while 10k will give you 52 to 171 ms. See www.electrosmash.com/pt2399-analysis .
