PGR MENTIONED EXTREMELY BASED I really wish the Main Story was updated more frequently, for R1999. It just kinda ends on 1.0 with a shitload of unanswered questions. That's what I'm most interested in, the Event Stories I haven't bothered to read yet.

Fr. Reading with no audiovisuals (only text) is hand-down one of the most boring and cruel thing you can force your players to experience. For Genshin side-quests (when I'll come around to do them later), I usually get the Fandom Page of the quest ready with all the dialogue, select it, and click on read text using the Readme browser extension. I wish they'd at least offer an AI voice at the side or something, which can be an optional thing for those who don't want to support AI (for whatever reason), and let me enjoy the text with my ears lmao. Also, for event quests in Nikke, which are often unvoiced. I just skip the story, and a few days later a VTuber channel uploads a semi-voice-acted session of the event, with their own commentary. Voice Acting is the difference for me for whether I'll follow along with the story or skip it xd.

I'm in college rn and can only spare time towards games that don't hog too much attention. In the end I settled with R1999, PGR and Limbus Company (this one might be a mistake but fuck it I'm in too deep) and ultimately dropped Genshin and HSR (though might return to HSR). To me at least those 3 scratch my itch for entertainment with R1999 being a surprising major one with how laid back but very well made as a gacha game. One of my one personal reasons to play R199 was the well done aesthetic and an actual driving protagonist. With 1.4 coming soon and the newly announced 1.7 in the horizon, I am very intrigued at how this game will grow in the future. Also great video man, peeps are defenitely right saying you're Sseth for gacha games lol keep up the good work my man

Thank you for sharing and for your kind words. :) As things are going, I'm still figuring out this channel but my current goal is to review both gacha games and more western "mainstream" games to have more varied content. Essentially, I've noticed a lack of proper review's when it comes to many gacha games, so I decided I'd try to fix that by putting a spotlight on the game's that deserve to played. I recently picked up Nikke myself because I have a lot of degenerate friends that wanted me to play it for the butts. I stayed for the story and just how well-crafted the firearms are. I'm on the verge of quitting Genshin myself due to burnout. Playing nonstop every single day for 3 years straight will do that to you.

Reverse 1999 has a target audience and they made sure to get every single one of them hooked on the game. The history, references, lore, story, characters, music, theyre all too good for me who loves history, reading, gacha, and music. I cant handle or comprehend how perfect it is for me. And its not even task heavy, so you can play for 20 mins and hop off with now consequences and the best part is the (near) lack of fanservice in designs. The designs are not limited by how sexy the characters are, but it is story driven and based on real life myths, stories, concepts, etc. They got Marilyn Monroe, Newton's Apple, The Shining Twins, Alice from Wonderland, and Pickles the Rimet Cup Retriever + more

I absolutely love games with different characters that isn't just fanservice sexy girl. Reverse 1999 has unlimited potential for characters. They could make characters inspired by inanimate objects, real historical figures, ?mythical creatures, animals, plants etc. New characters would always be a surprise which is really exciting.

@@TheChadventurer I always thought that if Nikke was the Yin then Blue Archive is the Yan of the gacha - a light-hearted, comedic story about high school students with guns, mixed with serious drama. Also the gacha-rates in BA is in the range of questionable to abysmal. Also a Noita enthusiast I see. How nice! :D I've bought the game two years ago but never came around of playing it in depth. Then last Christmas I've fallen too deeply into it and spent a months worth of my salary because my current computer doesn't like it when I throw a home-made nuke into the world. Yeah the eerie exploration in noita and the customizable planet obliterating wands are my two favorite things in this game. Speaking of PC's, you remind me I really need to check and clean mine soon, because the abysmal video editing I do is beginning to bring my rig to it's knees. Genshin, HSR, Path To Knowhere and Reverse 1999 has really good dub in EN. The only gacha games I played in English. Reverse 1999 is just unique where the characters really using their mother tongue language which is suprise me. Like Lilya speak Russian, Kaala Bauna speak Tamil, Mathilda with French and Schneider and Sonetto sometime speak Italian. It's refreshing. Notice you also playing PGR, good to meet fellow commandant out here. 😂

Loving your style of videos! Hopefully your next ones can do better in views. Since you played this one, I will put my grain of sand and say you should review Limbus Company. It manages to be even more ridiculous while taking itself equally serious as R1999, its a pretty unique type of Gacha in all the ways, being an Indie gacha made by a promising Korean game studio, and the combat I personally prefer over R1999 'cus its fun to watch.

If you played reverse in JP dubs, I really think that you missed out on lots of nuances spoken from the characters. There's not many gacha games that utilized the characters' national languages as a part of their dialogues (one gacha game that I know of that does this is Arknights, I think) Since the world of Reverse 1999 itself based on real world as well (America, India, England, Etc.), the devs goes 110% on the authenticity which I really goddamn respect.

Choosing a TV, / choosing Rabies? Turn off competitive alpha male? Relax and enjoy? In actual gameplay experience, players won't do that, because they are the lower rarities. In Reverse 1999, due to how the damage calculation is formulated, your character will either do small things or big things. Sadly, lower rarities are destined to do small things. Interesting character design, wasted. Interesting gameplay mechanic, wasted. Cool & funny voice lines, wasted. Cheap to build, all your resources that went to them, wasted. Honestly, the disappointment I have for this game was immense, the game was overhyped. Video reviews like these were how I entered the game. But I feel the reviewer hasn't really played the game, only touched the surface of it.

If you enjoy TCG games like me you'll probably enjoy it, I found it to be very F2P friendly and quite enjoyable.

As someone who has played since launch, I highly recommend it for the narrative experience. It's a true side game. Once you get through all the content, and level your favourite characters, you can chill and spend 5 min a day on the game until new story content is released. However, if you are not someone who cares much about story, this game might bore you. It's really just personal taste. But fact the developers added, then removed weapon banners during the beta, showed me that they care about the player base. There is no RNG gear farming. You literally only have to spend stamina levelling up your units, which makes the experience much less stressful. I hope more companies look at Reverse 1999 and develope better Gacha games.

That's actually a great question. You can rewatch all the main story cutscenes within one of the menu's, but unfortunately, this isn't the case yet with older events. There has only been 3 so far, one of them still on going. Maybe in the future they will bring those back like nikke started doing, but for now i think you'll have to watch them on KZbin.

The wilderness (home base) section is actually horrible, and this review is giving false ideas. Build however you like? NO, players will be prioritizing "VIGOR" value over design and aesthetic, because those VIGOR values gives the player significant amount of free resources. Result: 95% of the time, your wilderness looks like garbage dump. Player can actually decor it, but eventually, any hard work on it will be destroyed when a new wilderness pack comes out, and you need to rearrange things because new items giving higher Vigor.

From what I've heard the past events will become playable again in the future. There has only been 3 events so far, so in the worst case you could always watch them on KZbin.

Is uninstalling genshin truly a cure to all problems, or is it just autoplay? I tried, I really tried playing 3 gacha games at the same time and I couldn't just find the time in the day to do so. But gotta admit, 3 televisions pretending to be a girl speaks to me, so if it's really not p2w maybe I'll try it. Is there any access to events after the end like in Nikke? Knowledge that there is no pressure to rush ocntent on a daily basis would help. Waiting for upcoming videos!

So far I've seen no reason to spend money on it and I've cleared all main content with an unoptimized non meta team. It's very F2P friendly RN. You also can rewatch cutscenes but can't replay events like nikke right now, the game's only on it's third event so, maybe in the future. Personally I didn't feel like I was pressured to do content, there is a daily stamina system but it refreshes so often when you level it didn't become much of a concern. @@TheChadventurer understandable; I suggested it because it offered a lot of QoL features Genshin can only dream of at this point, which made the game far more bearable in many regards as someone who will probably retire Genshin if the game stays that way (though Star Rail's gacha experience is similar to Genshin for the most part except that Star Rail uses double banners which eliminates the Epitomized Path)

@@pawahara Yeah I've heard about the many QoL updates they added which genshin fans have been screaming to have for years. Truth be told, I had some interest in Honkai and even pre registered and tried it on its first week. Honestly, it wasn't bad and I was enjoying it more than genshin. I could tell it was an improvement. Sadly life happened and I had to put it down due to having limited time. I might go back to it eventually, but only time will tell. Anyways, what matters in the end is that you enjoy the games you play. Cheers! :)

I could write an essay on that, but essentially I think genshin is just mediocre at everything it does, for everything genshin has to offer, there's already another game out there offing that and offering better. For me the deal breaking issues boil down to 3 things. -Functional, but uninspired and bland gameplay. (If a game isn't fun why bother) -Unrewarding and predatory banners. (All the other gachas I play are more F2P friendly and have vastly better odds) -The insanity of Genshin stans slowly turning their community into one of the worst toxic fanbase. (I play games to have fun, not to deal with drama.)

@@TheChadventurer Yeah, and a stingy developer team. Despite being a game by the same HoYoverse that made HSR. Which, from what I've heard, actually listens to their players, make quality of life changes, and has fairly generous gacha rates. Still, Nikke is the best Gacha Game fr xD.

@@IdOnThAvEaUsE69 Yeah, I don't play HSR but I've heard about those issues. I find it baffling Hoyoverse would give features genshin players have asked for in HSR but not implement them in genshin. Nikke really is the best gacha game I've played and still play daily. My only complaint with nikke is the skin gacha as mentioned in my nikke review, but that's completely optional so I don't mind it much.

nah pvp is suck in gacha games, oftentimes it just fast forward auto battling match that aren't fun at all. if player need an endgame content to challenge their squad, reverse 1999 already have a high dificulty content in form of event and also limbo. pvp might just ruin the experience.
