For the enemy laughs silently as the men all dance along, puppets under his cruel foot. Try as they will, the power of the gods themselves could not exvail the men from the bardic trance they were captured in. As i entered the old carthan tavern, i was assailed by a most beautiful tune. My ears perked up as the tune stopped and, to my happieness turned to a song i knew well, to which i immediately began, in full voice, to sing. I sang the whole tune. My gravelly base filling the tavern along with the tune of the hurdy gurdy. At its conclusion i was standing next to a rather impressed bard. "I have not ever in me life heard the full lyrics to this particular balled sang entirely in drokenkarl. I have heard it sang in common more often than not. But the language of the savoudiin has not been spoken aloud here since the fall of karthane and the aeilfa took possession of our land." There was a subtle hope in the bards eyes for l he seemed to sense what i was. "Fear not, good bard. The elves have been drivin from the region and your people have been handed their independence once again." Excerpt from my currently unfinished novel chronicles of the dragon. book one. war and fire. Chapter 12 aftermath.

This is the very first time I'm seeing this instrument (I've probably heard it before in a movie or something because the sound sounds familiar) and I'm instantly intrigued by the engineering that went into this instrument. It seems like like the inventor had a basic idea of how the instrument should function but halfway through the person got lost in a world unlike this one but filled with visions and specters we can only guess at. The inventor stepped through a portal of some sort into a realm where she had to battle creatures of a non-physical nature and the only way to defeat them was with complex sounds. The inventor had to cobble together various instruments to achieve these complex harmonies. After defeating the spirits the inventor woke up cold from a feverish sweat only to realize that it wasn't a realm of spirits that she had entered but a realm of the mind. A realm brought forth from the deep sorrow the inventor faced after witnessing the death of her whole family to a tyrant that ruled the land as a self imposed lord. The inventor soon realized that it was in her power to either convey the deep pain and sorrow of loss upon anyone who heard this instrument or the joyful melodies of new beginnings and the infinite possibilities every new day holds. Knowing this the inventor left the instrument in a tavern for an ignorant soul to pick up because the inventor couldn't trust herself to play anything else but sorrowful music for her grief was to immense. I personally think there is a musician in each and everyone of us, maybe some of us just need to invent our own instruments or maybe we just haven't found the instrument we are meant to play. Basically music is such an essential part of being like breathing and eating and complex harmonies found in classic music is particularly good to help you get your thoughts in order and sooth your weary mind after a stressful day. Everyone reading this should find an instrument and learn how to play it. Only after you've felt the overwhelming joy creativity brings will you find the strength to overcome any obstacle and burden in your life for you see the hero in our story never actually played the instrument for fear of causing more sorrow so she stayed lost in depression and sadness but the gift of the instrument enabled someone else to express themselves in a positive way uplifting the spirits of the entire village and inspired the whole land to rise up against oppression and fear.

@@resourcedragon in general, women had very little freedom at that point in time, and, with a few exceptions, were not allowed an education.
