This is by far the best comparison video I have seen. Very informative. Thank you very much 👍

Great video John! If you have the time, I have 3 questions: 1- (a) Going with an UF system, what are the dangers in ingesting dissolved inorganic matters? (b) Does municipal water actually have the dissolved inorganic matters removed? 2- On an RO system, can the waste water be redirected easily to be used as 'grey water' for toilets and washing machine?
@EcoperlaGlobal3 жыл бұрын
1 - tap water should meet the appropriate standards, so UF water can be consumed safely :) 2 - yes, the water rejected by the RO can be used as gray water, e.g. for toilets :)

In case of UF filtration, to add a UV lamp is not necessary? If yes, which is the last filter, the UV lamp or the UF membrane filter? Thanks!

RO is also just a filter. It's really, really small holes in a membrane, and water is pushed through by pressure. "Separating molecules," lol.

Can you connect both ?
@sko1beer3 жыл бұрын
If you are running both have UF first then let it go into the RO 2nd

There's no point, RO is better. Just run RO.

My RO system gets down to say 20 ppm and after 10-12 months with the same filters it’s pushing out 55-60 ppm. What is the average ppm on a UF system? Is ppm really that important?
@Sylvan_dB4 жыл бұрын
empty the storage tank, fill it and empty again. now what ppm do you get? No such thing as universal average ppm. Figure your incoming ppm, 95% should be gone.

Ppm or mg/L is a unit of measurement. I believe you're discussing TDS?
@vinceleto4 жыл бұрын
@@guidedbygreen1480 Yep, TDS is what I meant. I change the filters about every 10 months. Once my ice cubes start getting cloudy thats a good sign for me to change them

I swear no one just goes into the facts, I want the simplest filter that takes out uranium, I would like to see before and after tests, not crazy about RO, takes everything and then you have to add minerals, doesn't anyone make a product that just removes uranium and gets to the point?? Uranium is a huge issue in US drinking water.
@aluisious9 ай бұрын
If there's uranium in your water you need to move. There's no reason for it to be in your water except living downstream of Hanford or a similar facility, and then you're still going to be showering in it and cleaning your clothes with it.
