Reliability wise I feel the powertrain (engine, trans) will be totally fine, Jaguar's AJ series V6 and V8 engines have proven to be pretty reliable overall over the years. And the diesel is a Ford Lion engine that dates back to 2004, so in theory the diesel should be reliable as well. And all engines use the ZF 8-speed, nuff said there. However the electronics, probably not. Still the King though.

12:49 While your test here (pulling away from a Stop sign/light, then increasing acceleration out of 2nd or 3rd gear) is certainly more realistic in daily driving, to really get a feel for the power/torque of this engine, you'd probably want to test it from a dead stop in CommandShift (M) mode (clutchless Manual). Then use the -/+ paddle shifters on the left/right of the steering wheel to confirm you're starting from 1st (S1) gear. CommandShift is without a doubt, one of my favorite features of our Rovers. I might be mistaken on how this particular Range Rover works as I'm not especially a fan of post-1995 Range Rovers in general, so my knowledge is limited about them, but that's how Manual shifting works on our Disco 4/LR4 HSE Lux'es (though our Discos have the shifter knob, not the paddles. lol). Anyway, I'd bet you'd get a very different pull and feel some pretty nice G forces from a dead stop in CommandShift. 🚙⚡😎

You should be a sales guy, you never point out any flaws in a car. Ex; you say the seats are not sporty, but then you say they're great. This is why I like dougs channel more, he doesn't give a fuck about what car companies, sponsors, fans, etc think. If something is wrong he says it & he doesn't soften up the critique.
@MattMaranMotoring6 жыл бұрын
You must have missed the pros and cons list for each section. I'm always honest in my reviews, but I can give constructive criticism instead of bashing a vehicle just for views. And if you think I'm never critical, watch my G-Wagon review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIa2coGteNBkeJI

HUGE JACKMAN The cars are still designed, engineered, and built in Britain. To be honest TATA is the best thing to ever happen to JLR.
@knifetoucher6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Littleton Not really, they went the way of Maserati and are making upper-middle class soccer mom cars. The only cars they'd make that don't immediately depreciate like 20% as soon as they leave the lot will be the Defender whenever they start making them again.
@ryanlittleton56156 жыл бұрын
HUGE JACKMAN They never went the way of Maserati at all. For one there's not parts sharing with Dodge Darts here. And they're not doing anything different (except for the Evoque, Discovery Sport and Velar) than what they've ever done, except now actually good. I promise you every current Land Rover (and Jaguar) is designed, engineered, and built in Britain. As far as the 20% goes, that's literally every high end luxury car on the market except for Lexus perhaps.
