I have the XTRAFAC version (I live in Mexico) of the AA S510 CARBINE ULTRALIGHT in .22 calibre and I must say that it is awesome. I recently won a FT competition with this carbine in the 16 ftlb division. It´s a great airgun.

must agree I to shoot the AA S410 in .22 and cannot find anything to moan about, I am chuffed to bits with my choice. AirArms is the way to go.
@s10m0t10n11 жыл бұрын
I hunt using the AA S410 in .22. Can't fault it. I get a good shot count from a charge, it gives good, tight groups out to 40 yards (length of my garden) when practicing and it's light enough to carry for hours in the field. Regardless of price, Air Arms take some beating for all round performance. I'm sure the S510 would perform every bit as well as stated here. I'm not criticising any other make - just passing on my experience of this brand.

the problem with it when u put a silencer on it to becomes massive but ultra quiet and as always with the Air arms very accurate
@TommyTucker04 жыл бұрын
great video, as usual, but one question why does .177 have less shots per charge than .22 you would have thought it takes less effort (air) to push a .177 pellet to 12 ftlb than a heavier bigger .22 pellet?

This question haunts me so I have to ask. Why would a smaller pellet have a lower shot count than a larger, heavier pellet does considering that they are both propelled by the same volume/pressure capacity? Sorry if I sound a bit stupid but I can't reconcile the reasoning. Great video once again though. Many thanks!
@ollieturner55908 жыл бұрын
+phil The maximum power (momentum) a pellet you are allowed in the uk without a firearms certificate is 12 foot pounds which is calculated by the weight of pellet x the speed of the pellet. so the lighter .177 pellet can go a lot faster than the .22 pellet and still be uk legal- this is why the .177 pellet is faster and more acurate over varying distances than the .22
@grumpyartist94168 жыл бұрын
+Ollie Turner Thanks for the reply Ollie. Are you saying that this means in the UK you are allowed to put more air behind a .177 than a .22 due to the foot/pound equation? I'm assuming this is what you mean. Sorry, I was only thinking of physics-not legalities.
@ollieturner55908 жыл бұрын
yes precisely; hunter often chose.22 for close quarters knockdown power because you have a larger area which you can hit and still kill. more experienced hunters often go for .177 because it has a larger muzzle velocity so a longer range and is more accurate as it has a flatter trajectory. it also has more penetrating power as the force is spread over a far smaller area
@Erasmuspipebagger16 жыл бұрын
Even more simply : to get 12 ft/lbs of energy out of a .177 (lighter) pellet takes more air to give the impulse necessary. If you want to experience the physics even more simply, try breathing through a hose, then through a straw, see which takes more effort.

Can anyone explain how a .22 gets more shots per fill compared to .177
@kenjif898 жыл бұрын
In the UK airguns are limited to 12FPE. Since the 22 pellet is heavier, it reaches the legal limit at a slower speed than 177. This is why the 22 is more efficient on air- less air required to get the same FPE as 177. However, if a 177 and 22 were fired at the same speed, the 22 would use much more air.
@riflesareawesome25029 жыл бұрын
another one low on power!! I remember in Airgun mags all the guns where like 11.5. 11,6 11.9 even non of this sub 11 nonsense! Why are they all suddenly sub 11 when they supposed to be sub 12? I'll tell you why it's a crafty ploy of the government to lower the power limit as they know if they just did it there would be loads of people protesting so buy doing it like this they are quietly introducing it! I'd recommend anyone seriously into rifles to do what I did and get an FAC!

Disappointing to see the low power, with boasting brilliant shot to shot variation, I am sure it will stay true at 775 to 783 fps on the curve. its sad Air Arms set them to low. we expect as customers to have at least 11.2 to 11.5 safe legal limit on anygun.

$1000 air rifles everywhere. Please, make one with a composite stock, with a price tag normal people can afford. The price tag just doesn't make any sense. Use ingenuity and good engineering to produce value for money, someone? Anyone! There's a dearth of these faux-fancy, over-priced PCP's. I could have 2 nice Savages, with bull barrels, lapped and tapped, well designed stocks, scopes and match triggers for the same price! I mean, it's twice the price of a Marauder; is it twice as good?
