Review: Alpha Model Audi RS7 1/24 scale resin model kit

I've started another big project. This time I am building the Alpha Model brand resin Audi RS7 in 1/24 scale. This is a very detailed resin kit with photo etched parts and decals to compliment the beautiful cast resin pieces.

Well that is intense. What a lot of tiny little parts. lol. Alpha is doing some really great stuff and I like how they are doing actual detail to the bottom as well. It may end up having to do more masking and painting but feels like more of a finished kit. Not a fan of those rims tho.

Looks like a nice kit 👍, but one thing I do not understand is, that they call it a "FULL DETAIL KIT". A full detail kit is a kit with an engine, not a curbside kit.

Thanks for this review James, it's definitely making me appreciate the Alpha kits even more 👍🏼 they're not cheap, but you get a ton of pieces and details compared to plastic kits! Thanks for watching Karl, I totally agree with you, detail wise Alpha Kits are hard to compare with plastic kits plus subject matter is another consideration. If you like modern cars it’s the way to go. You certainly pay for what you get.

I considered that color because it’s different also. I found an old bottle of red pearl I’ll be using. Not factory but a nice color.

Hi Eddie, I can see how you would say that. No engine, no chassis per se… but what these are is what I would call a challenge of advanced skills: application of carbon fiber decals, bending and applying photoetched parts and of course painting, masking and polishing. They aren’t easy kits to build, there’s no color guides and very basic instructions. Try one, you may like them.
