Pretty interesting unit, I was originally going to go with a numark mixdeck but I think this is a better option actually! Half the price and takes usb. I would like CD decks but it's not really nessacary, I just really wanted a standalone unit without needing a laptop all the time.

@DigitalDJTips hi phil, great video. I've seen on your site you've reviewed the versadeck and the scs.4dj. In your opinion, which one do you like the most? Any similarities, differences? I'm undecided as to which one to get. Thanks!

Nice review! Very analytically. Cool. A piece of advice though, if you like. When recording a video be sure that your audio level is as close to -0-db as possible, otherwise you make it hard for others to listen to you. I barely hear you.

@DigitalDJTips Thanks for answering. One thing I'm attracted to in the scs.4dj is the ability to record sets on the fly. Is this possible on the versadeck? Which of the two would you recommend?

hi there i have a question about headphone input...how does it sound when you have that fader exactly in the middle between channel 1 and channel 2?does it sound same like when you have pressed CH-1 and CH-2 (in the same time) on the pioneer mixpult for example?or does it sound like when you have pressed just MASTER button on pioneer mixpult...i hope you understand what i mean :D

Hello, I would like to ask, wihch one would you use between American Audio Versadeckand StantOn SCS 4DJ, for standard DJ-ing, no scratching , and maybe no looping either, just putting together a simple gig in the Trance genre, keeping in mind that I would like a stable gear, not to crash on me, during the gig ???? At 10:18 the pitch fader resolution is mentioned as not being "high-resolution". Now, is this the case no matter what mode the Versadeck in? Or just in MIDI controller mode? Is the fader resolution also like this in stand-alone mode?

It's got 10bit pitch faders as high res as a Pioneer. It's not 14bit, though.

can i access the soud effects while using vynil? if i have a record on ch 1, and press the flanger, will it work?

Cool review...I'm looking for a stand alone machine...no laptops...just USB...CDs if possible...I might get this is their anything else that may be worth a look at....I like the look of the Gemini 7000....

+techstyle123 If you got the cash, I'd recommend the XDJ-R1. It has CD and USB, and you can't go wrong with Pioneer build quality. American Audio products don't tend to be very reliable, to be honest. But this Versadeck it's ok if you aren't doing regular pro gigs. Just sayin'

Nice device, I don't like computer controllers any more because of the sound and memory problems in windows PCs at least!! I prefer stand-alone devices so you can have your mind clear. No headaches!! Stand-alone All the way!!

These have a lot of defective units... memory problems and button shorts.
