The front sensor is a FLIR, a Forward Looking InfraRed. The radar of a F-14 is inside its big nose.

Now that you mention it, you’re right. It’s the same on the F-18 super hornet. I guess I need to study up.

Ok I just want to add to your comment about why stores are selling matchbox big box playsets over toys like Gi joe, Transformers, etc. Simple, price and return for your money. Transformers are getting smaller and yet price is getting more expensive; none of these kids are following the same characters we adults used to follow(DCU, He man) because one there is no more "tv" support, and there are some that are still getting following like Marvel stuff, Super Mario (cute characters stuff like Pokemon etc) and Transformers, but again it boils down to price. My nephews are extremely happy to get main line "studio" figures, but wasn't even happy to get a Darth Vader legends because their not into action figures and no media support (tv shows, little kid games well maybe Legos, but not action figures for kids); my nephews love their lego versions though.

Hey just watched your review and I've got mine arriving next week.. yes you are on point this shouldn't be a HAslab. But knowing hasbro it's an opportunity for cash grab as they deem it fit . Nevertheless this is an awesome update and a must have ! If I were you I would keep all figures on card.. its retro bro!

Americas biggest mistake was to give F-14s to Iran instead of Taiwan and Ukraine and now it’s going to be harder to make gi joe things, top gun movies and macross without F-14s.
