I can't wait to jump back into Atelier Ryza's world sometime this year. I enjoyed my time with the first entry and once I'm in the mood for a relaxed, slice of life adventure, I will be sure to start Ryza 2. Ryza 1 was my first time finishing an Atelier game and it was fun struggling and finally understanding the alchemy system. Thank you for the great video as always! -Danny

I’ve been waiting for your final thoughts on this game for weeks and I was not disappointed! I knew that you will love this game as much as I did! It was an amazing review and video ☺️ The game fulfilled all my expectations and more, and even tho i already platinumed it (it was easier than Ryza 1) I still been playing it because I want to discover everything! It’s just so addictive alchemy and battle system wise... also cute, and lovely🥰 honestly 2021 couldn’t start better with this game, it made me so happy and I’m glad to know i was not the only one that truly enjoy Ryza 2 adventure. It is magnificent and deserves all the love 💕 I wish I could participate in the dynamic but I already own the game and I’m not from Europe lol but good luck to whoever wins! 🎊 Thank you JRPG Jungle for this amazing video review!✨

Being playing it on the Switch, and love it! I'm glad that there isn't any time limit (my main gripe with the earlier Atelier games). It's such a time sinker that I played over 2 hours this morning and next thing I knew, it was time to start working. Time just flew by! It is a charming game, and definitely worth getting.

Still playing it myself. I just finished the 4th ruins yesterday. The changes are really good. The battle flows even better now, the exploration and material collection is improved and the alchemy system got a nice upgrade to make it even better. Really happy with this one. I also love that Klaudia is kind of a badass now. Especially in battle she just slays with her bow. As always, great review :)

This is a very balanced game. While I like the first Ryza game, this is now one of my favorites (since Totori). There were only two difficulty spikes in the game and they easily dealt with by making better equipment. The alchemy system was a bit OTT but I enjoyed the complexity even though a lot of it was rather unnecessary. Serri was my favorite new character, but they are all quite endearing (especially super cute Fi).

Great review! I LOVED the battle system, just wish I could experiment more in the end game besides using the weasel. The OST is also criminally underrated, probably my favorite in all the recent games I've played this year. Looking forward to see what future DLCs will bring and of course the inevitable Ryza 3. Keep up the good work!

Another great insight. I've spent over 60hrs and I've no idea how far I'm in, in terms of the story. I've been getting distracted by the side events. It defiantly feels like Gust have taken what systems work well and than refining them. The 'mix' mechanic can be used inside and outside of battle for example. I'm sad to see that the landmark feature is gone from the last game; I loved getting a party members insight on a location and I still prefer the old trait mechanics. But in saying that I'm still having a lot of fun; my plan was to finish it before Bravely Default 2's release that didn't happening. So I'll be spending more time with Ryza after I finish Bravely Default 2; as I've been excited for it since the last game.
@bowz_of_oshu3 жыл бұрын
I'm still playing through the game currently. I'm loving absolutely everything about this game so far, though I've found myself only using the team from the last game since they're all so great. I love how simple it is to get your gear to be higher quality with solid traits pretty early in the game. By the time you hit the 3rd ruins, you can basically max out the grid and make whatever you want. You can even start some of your post game prep if you're good enough

I fear that after I play the Ryza duology, it'll be very hard to go back older Atelier games. I really want to try one of the older trilogies (Arland or Dusk) for the original Atelier experience. But I've gotten way busy because of work, so Ryza's more traditional JRPG + Atelier + QoL features hybrid sounds more appealing to play.

its like a fraction of normal rpg games in terms of game length, super short same with 2

@@Drakthus No offence, but are you sure about that? According to HowLongToBeat the game is about 26 hours long if you only focus on the story, and if you plan on doing sidequests (which I do) it's 43 hours long. It's not the same length as games like Witcher 3 or Trails of Cold Steel, but I'd hardly call that short.

The slowdown of the first Ryza game on Switch has me waiting until the Switch Pro to pick up this entry. Luckily, the Switch is not shy for Atelier experiences. That said, I got so attached to my first Atelier in Rorona Dx that it's hard for me to get into the other games. I kinda just end up wanting to play Rorona Dx every time I try out other games in the franchise, and then I go do that, so I haven't made more than a few hours progress into any game other than Rorona, which I'm entering my third playthrough on, lol

I somehow had enough time to play and finish Ryza 2 and overall I like it a bit better than ryza 1 by a small bit,
@seanbcusack3 жыл бұрын
i liked it better than ryza 1 in almost every single way, but there's a couple things i hope they fix before ryza 3: - the combo timing in battle is really messed up by enemies constantly interrupting with their super attack windups, and there's no interrupt that automatically deflects super attacks - if they wind up right after coming back from a break, there's no way to break them in time, so you get wallopped - the endgame plotline kinda just happens out of nowhere and i wish they let you enter the underworld again, i felt like it just finished all of a sudden - they messed up the hardest difficulties by making them too hard in a couple weirdly specific ways. on charismatic and legendary, the hp and damage and all that are fine, but they made enemies do 10x-100x stun damage. a blue puni can nearly one-shot break a level 99 character with max equipment - that's completely ridiculous, especially considering there's nearly zero "do extra stun" or "resist extra stun" traits or effects at all in the game - in general, they took away all endgame/postgame traits. it's a stark wasteland compared to even ryza 1, let alone earlier ateliers. after all the "++" traits there's just nothing. no traits to collect or put on high end equipment. the traits you get in midgame are as good as you get - i hope they don't lock quality 999 behind plot barriers any more so given the weirdly unfair high difficulty settings and lack of postgame traits, i basically had nothing to do in the postgame. i had already done every quest and unlocked every dungeon secret. once i beat the endboss (who melted in one hit even on hard mode), i had nothing to do that felt good on postgame. i beat the superboss on the difficulty below charismatic, but on that or legendary, basically every enemy in the game becomes RNG deadly. all one enemy needs is one lucky hit and they'll stun lock a maxed out party and kill you, that's just badly balanced. i hope they patch that and never repeat it. looking forward to ryza 3 though!

As much as I am an Atelier fan, I simply couldn't enjoy Ryza 1's battle system, and the kinda boring story didn't make that any better for me. Ryza 2 feels like what Ryza 1 should have been from the start with an improved battle system and new core crystal mechanics that makes more sense. Though I do miss the old time limit games, Ryza 2 didn't disappoint.

first, I have to pay respect to this game for how complex it is. the amount of systems and abilities this games throws at you, makes it almost impossible to not forget about some of them while playing. that said, we have to talk about the difficulty, because I think, it works against the premise of the game, namely to perfect your alchemy skills and craft the best possible equipment. this simply isn't necessary. on the contrary! it is way harder to achieve some of the group missions with the best equipment in place, because fights are over before you get the chance. although I switched to hard after I cleared the first ruins (you can't go higher on your first playthrough), the enemies were still no challenge - even the bosses. especially the bombs, if you use their systems well, are overpowered. this means, there is no necessity for always having the best equipment. normal enemies were actually fleeing from me when I reached the third ruins (which means, they've got no chance). oh, and it`s nice that Serri has the wood element, but there simply is no need to actively utilize it! and to level up in alchemy has become a little to simple. I unlocked almost everything and reached a 999 synthesis shortly after exploring the third ruins! that's a tad to fast! In short: there are a lot of abilities to exploit for you - but you actually don't have to, because the game doesn't give you enough of a challenge. I can't remember a single instance, where a party member was going down. stil. a great game with great pacing (the way new characters and their episodes come into your life) great characters (except Clifford, who is rather faceless - no pun intented - and doesn't really fit in) and great humor. oh, and lets not forget the music, which is, in my opinion, the real star of this game ;-)
