Bought this game due to your recommendation. I hadn’t played an Artelier game before, but man I’m really enjoying it a lot so far. I do find certain things a little bit confusing (like the alchemist stuff) but I’m learning more each day. I would definitely recommend purchasing this game if you’re into a lighthearted, relaxing JRPG.

Thanks to this video and a black Friday sale, I gave this game a try and currently really loving it! I was struggling with the crafting at first and a little frustrated by the emphasis on resource gathering that felt tedious but as the story progressed, I fell in love with the characters’ quest for self-improvement, helping others and the slice-of-life story. It's really refreshing for me with so much stress in my actual life. I think I've never enjoyed reading game dialoged and looking forward to the next cut scene so much in any other game as I am with this one. It feels like the interactive Anime series I always wanted. This is my first Atelier game and I'm hesitant to try the older ones just because I am really enjoying the real time combat elements that are apparently new to the series here. Though I am curious about the series with its attractive art and chill atmosphere. I guess I have the sequel to look forward to. I have mixed feelings about Ryza's design. Then there's Lila problematic design ...but whatever. It's the chill game I needed now, so thank you!

Came back and bought this game recently.. previously i had immense fun with Ryza 2 and bought Ryza 3.. decided to buy the first one too.. the game was so fun ❤❤ And the characters are likeable, even the grinding to get items were fun and addictive.. sad that Atelier series still a niche but definitely deserving popularity.. its easy to say the developers made the game with love

My first Atelier game was Lydie & Suelle on Switch and I just couldn't get into it. This game seemed a bit different so I tried it. Right from the start the graphics are so nice it pulls you right into the world, soon after you discover the combat is much more active and that pulls you in, then when you get to alchemy the "loops" are very clear and easy to understand compared to the "tetris" alchemy of Lydie. Overall, this is a much better "first Atelier game" experience then I had before. I dropped Lydie without finishing, but I plan to sink many hours into this one.

that sucks that the voice acting is only in japanese... but that is a small price to pay for a good game I guess. I figured people would not like the way Ryza was dressed cause its a big departure from the lolita type outfits the Atelier games are usually known for... I wonder if they did this to get her more into a modern era or if it was just eye-candy... (sigh... it is most likely because of eye-candy). As usual, this is an awesome review... I love that the voice action is in the native language of the game, Japanese, and that we get subtitles for other languages. Even with very talented voice actors, if they don't speak the native language, it will never sound quite right when they're reading lines that have been dubbed... you lose the subtleties and layered meanings of the original. Every language has these... plays on words because you could pick 3 different ones, but chose 1 because of the way it sounds, or the way it reminds the listener of another meaning of similar words. Of course, I wish I knew more than a tiny handful of Japanese words, so I could pick up on that... but hey, I'd rather they spend their budget on the gameplay and make ME learn their language, than spend it on a dub that won't be great anyways. :)

Question about this game -- its a question I have about every "farming" or "gathering" game. Does TIME matter? Any game that gives you a clock or seasons freaks me out that I'm not using my time wisely. Like I need to consult a guide (got that vibe strong in Stardew Valley). And instead of being relaxing - this becomes stressful. Like I think some Harvest Moon games made you do everything in like 3 years. And Story of Seasons tended to feel like you needed to do things in the right amount of time. But then I played a few games like Little Dragons Cafe, and although it only gives you a really short day to do stuff -- if you dont, no big deal. The story wont progress until you do the exact thing for the main story quest. So if you want to site see one day, its fine. My Time At Portia was that way too ,i felt stressed at first (some quests give you a date to finish by) but the main ones you could just put off (sometimes others would complete tasks from the job board on you though). So yeah, are you pressed for time gathering items etc, or can you play the game at your pace?

What about Rune Factory?!

@@MrEquusQuagga To be completely honest, rune factory was disappointing... seems like they made the game in a rush and not much love was put into it. The graphics completely turned me off from playing it 😢 Looking forward to the Atelier Ryza series

I find Atelier games are hit or miss for me but I guess I'll give this one a go. Have to say I love the artwork - really draws you in.

I got lost this afternoon playing it as I had no idea where Travellers road was to find these Crimson core to make my bombs. I even resorted by using Google and all I was told was to go to the shipyard. When I finally found the shipyard, it's just basically an empty beach with a small jetty. The same island you go to at the start of the game. I'm loving it at the moment. I can see myself getting absorbed in this game over 100 hrs, 20 hrs of which is trying to understand Alchemy. Chemistry at school was never my favourite subject. Always confused me. But I suppose with any any game, you'll start to understand it while you play.

Not exactly the way one would envision it happening but congrats on 20K subscribers and getting your channel back. I've also been wondering if this game was worth playing because I've heard of this series for what seems like forever but have never played any of these games.
