A brief look at the BMD-1 would have been nice for completeness sake.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you mean at the BMD-1’s stat card? I covered the BMD-1 in the history, parts and Forces sections. I usually only cover one variant on the table in the stats section. The video was already a long one, and the only real difference is the 73mm gun in place of the 30mm cannon. Better AT but no anti-helicopter. But I’ll bear your comment in mind.

Very nice kit. Because I would have the BMD and infantry all by myself I would opt for the veterans. 😉

Great review Harry as usual… Love the history lesson with all your reviews… I have this starter set myself… was so Hyped about this release… Having Elite Soviets is a nice addition to the game… As an entire formation or as support for a regular force

I was surprised at the excitement for the Red Dawn release, but it was real! I felt it too. Not sure why, but people really looked forward to this one. The sense of anticipation was palpable.

@@FogofWar I really think that it is a 3 fold situation … #1 you have Battlefront teasing the release in the end of year Christmas video and then the pandemic hits and delays it for another year, #2 the inclusion of the limited edition command squad and the yearly Team Yankee objective … the objective is beautiful however I feel bad for people who collect the yearly objectives and don’t play Soviets … Now they are forced to purchase an army they don’t play or get thrown over a barrel by someone who is willing to part with it or has multiples… I would like to see Battlefront make it and future objective releases available possibly direct or some kind of limited run … Prices for some of the prior years have gone through the roof on E Bay … I have seen some as high as $100 USD but I digress… #3 I really think it’s a timing thing with the current marketing strategy in sales … the original Red Dawn was an 80s Movie and right now that era is a selling point… The music and style is affecting sales drastically in the States… Car commercials, TV shows you name it … I guess it’s Because The kids of the 80s are the ones that have the most disposable income… Team Yankee WW3 is a perfect match for the current times … Kinda like back in the 60s and 70s when WW2 model kits and Games dominated the market

Yeah, I think I could crush these things easy with my Sherman horde. Maybe a Lee/Grant horde would be more effecient?

Would like to see a video about the 2S9 Nona, fairly unique at 4+ skill for Soviet artillery (with the exception of the also new 82mm VDV mortar team).

I’m definitely going with the smaller Elite formation… However the Recon unit is a temptation that will probably make me expand to a Minimum size formation just to field them …prior to the release I had plans for my Shock Infantry to do head swaps with PSC British commandos for the Berets … although the infantry with this release are Metal … Kinda of a disappointment but now I’m not cutting heads off and gluing them with tweezers and having a positioning nightmare… I’m a big fan of Battlefronts Team Yankee Soviet Infantry… the prep work is very minimal and the Poses and sculpting is Awesome… I really wish Battlefront would make them the Standard material for all infantry formations across their entire range … I believe they used them for Mid War Brits … Maybe 🤔 you can confirm…however I can’t seem to find any of them here in the states… a shame because with the Tobruk release I grabbed 2 and started a Crusader formation… Always loved the look 👀 of that Tank … It literally spawned the idea of building a British army in my collection

I don't think so... They drop by parachute and then unpack and deploy the vehicles.

Stats-wise in the game it is not much different to the BMP. Except you can fill it with Soviet infantry who are hit on a 4+... :-) It is a nice little kit.
