I've been really wondering what a panzer II is doing in late war. Thanks for answering that question! I am hoping there will be plastic Luchs someday!

Might be a while - but here's hoping!

What a great kit. Build and painted an old resin/metal Panzer II by BF lately. It can't stand its ground against this plastic beauty. Nice fog-of-warish review.

As I have been looking for some early PzII in plastic, the timing of this review was excellent. Many thanks👍

When I wrote that in the script, I had no idea how many people would take it as a challenge… :-)

Agree about the turret storage bin, I think I've only seen 1 or 2 with them, but still good to have it for modelling. To make them stand out

Les Parsons posted a few pictures of Panzer IIs with the turret bin, but most pictures are without. But as you say, nice to have the option in the kit.

Harry great job 👏 with the review… 1 question I have is how tiny is this model??? My guess is somewhere between the JEEP plastic kit and the Stuart/ Honey Kit … Love the fact that this has multiple open hatch options… I need one hatch open to distinguish unit commander and I also need a way to distinguish a single model as a Forward Observer… also I am a fan of Box qty. of 3 … 2 boxes will be a full unit in Iron Cross/ Ghost Panzers and a leftover for an Observation Post

It's pretty small. Smaller than the Stuart model, most definitely!

I guess there is considerable lead time involved in developing and producing a plastic sprue release. Getting this kit done earlier rather than later will allow development of other early war models closer to that release date itself (assuming they do eventually revisit early war again).

I would add that I almost think it is certain they will revisit early war again seeing that they made this kit at all. Although, it could otherwise be due to supporting their 'World of Tanks' product line. Perhaps both?

Matttheyak - Battlefront have said a few times they will revisit early war, but it might be a little while. I must re-watch the Modelling for Advantage livestream from a week or so ago where Pete from Battlefront talked about their plans for early war and other releases…

Looks a great kit and looking forward to see how my Tank Training Company gets on in games :). I think their life expectancy in a game may be short.

It is! The only issue I had was a *very* slight gap in the turret hatch insert.

You could also probably use the panzer II stats to use proxy models like PZ 38Ts or later PZ1/2 variants like the bettere armoured luchs.
