Review of this Boss Marine Stereo and then install to see what it looks and sounds like. I don't know about you but we don't want to spend a lot of money on a boat radio the is going to be subjected to the weather. A boat can see a lot of weather when you are out on the water, we are willing to risk $79 to have tunes yet still not cry if the radio gets broken.

In this video, we go over what comes in the box, how we install it to be safe on the water and play some music on the Boss Stereo. You will not be able to tell how it sounds, you just have to trust what my ears are hearing. I love good sounding music. all my cars and my house I have Bose, this is not Bose, but at half volume, it sounds pretty good for the price point.

Thanks for including "if you want really loud this isn't for you" much appreciated. Lol I'm after something really loud for our 18 foot lund speaker under the console and on the floor on passenger side still unsure of what to get so tubers can hear it. That is without getting a tower

Well on our jeep we have the JL M600 marine, that is pretty loud. I can hear my son why he enters the neighborhood and it has a single Champion 10 inch sub. You can also get louder with good sound if you place the speakers well. This system is plenty loud for me, but we just want to talk with music in the background.

Think it has good sound for the price, see how it sound once the engine runs someday. Well no greenscreen behind me, the flame would look like it came from the front of the screen, maybe I should move my greenscreen out to my garage, pretend I am on the ocean.

What guage wire did you use to connect the stereo to the battery? Did you use any fuses or directly wire it to the battery?

We used 12 gauge wire to the fuse block accessory switch on the boat. The fuse we have at the accessory switch is 50 amp, but other things run off this switch.

I have yet to sink the boat to see if the boss radio can go under water. I have power washed the boat and I am sure water got to the back side of the radio, it still works fine.

We only used heat shrink marine butt connectors and heat-shrink, did not solder anything.

I’m still sketched out about buying this kit. Every review on bass pros website has 1 star and says don’t buy it. Have you had any issues?

We use this almost every day in our garage, the boat has not hit the water yet. Not a lot of info with 1 star and don't buy. I have said this is not the loudest radio on the market, but it will provide tunes.

We have not splashed the unit, but here is what BOSS says about this radio. Fully Marinized is the term Boss uses for their Marine and Outdoor products that are Weather Proof. Every time the volume goes above 30, the radio will shut off. It also just shuts off randomly. Does anybody know what the problem might be? I can’t even hear the music while driving the boat because I can’t turn it up loud enough.

Try direct connecting both your positives to the battery, then your negative to the battery as well, and Crank It Up. If it's still shuts off send it back.

You take the red and yellow power wire to positive? And black to negative

We took the yellow to an aux switch and the red to the battery, this way we can turn it off from the boat dash without losing the radio memory,

That was an extreme joking example. If we lose the radio because of water or other hazards to electronics on a boat, we won't be out that much.
