I’ve watched a substantial number of your bass demos and I’d say THIS bass may sound the best to my ears.

Ive been gigging with this bass for a few months now. It’s become my #1. I use it with the Aguilar rig too.

JMJ is absolutely one of the most under appreciated bass players around. The bass on paper tiger, or Dark Star (a very meaningful tune for my spouse and I) are both incredibly ear catching bass lines that carry the songs, and his playing on Midnight Vultures is just virtuosic. And yet I can’t get any notation for a single one of those tracks with a paid subscription to ultimate guitar.

i just got a Chicago music Exchange Squier Mustang Bass, and it is lake placid blue w/comp stripes. Fantastic bass. I used to own a '65 as a kid, and this is DOING it for me. Might not even change the pickup.....ahhhh who am i kidding? I always change pickups on new guitars. Stock pickup sounds fine, though. Hard to beat for the price

If you sometimes need a soft and warm cushion to put down behind the band this works beautifully. Like a P it fits in a mix really well. After owning this for a while I can say its a legit instrument and worth the cost.

Question: is the sound more jazz bass or precision bass: anyone ? Appreciate your answer

Precision, that’s why the mustangs have the nickname: The younger brother of the precision bass

I just got this bass and I don't like it...maybe is my playing style but I keep on hearing the strings hitting the frets producing "clacking" sounds...unless you play very smoothly
@toughnsazzy69015 жыл бұрын
AElejagaSoundz Its because you need to learn how to play flats.
@ixa-31404 жыл бұрын
Clacking is nice. Wtf do you play jazz lmao pluck softer turn your amp up and play towards the back when you play hard in the front you get the clack but that's good for metal or most rock in general

“I don’t like road worn” Proceeds to buy a vintage bass you didn’t worn down. Road worn is not meant to make it look like you’ve been playin it for 50 years…it’s just beautiful…

It’s funny, most of my instruments are older than me, I view them as unique and special tools, but tools to be specific. So I kind of like the road worn/ relic/ antiqued/ aged thing because a squeaky clean new bass feels like plastic to me. I’ll admit the new anniversary Jazz basses in pearl white do look rather spiffy, though! I like my instruments to look and feel played
@areyoujelton3 жыл бұрын
I thought the same, working as a tech. But I just bought one of these for my wife, and I have to say it’s got “the feel”. I relic’d one of my personal jazzmasters a while back and it feels so damn good! I guess my point is, it can go either way. *Just like people.*
@johnhmaloney6 жыл бұрын
It has a nice tone, but for some reason, short-scale basses just sound smaller to me. They just don't seem to have the same punch or take up as much sonic space as a long-scale bass.
@marike11006 жыл бұрын
John Maloney That's a myth as Steve alluded to. Short scale basses like this one often cut through a mix better than 34" scale basses, which is one reason JMJ uses one.
@johnhmaloney6 жыл бұрын
I'm sure they have their place, but the fact that they can cut through a mix proves my point. They have a smaller, focused sound, as opposed to the big, grounding boom of a long-scale.
@carlosegtrs53086 жыл бұрын
John Maloney I agree. They Are fun to play. Will be cool if they had a boost switch or active
