What an interesting little set! I actually don't mind the layout and think it looks like a fun journaling set. Water brushes definitely take time to get used to. I didn't like them much for months and months that, but now they're some of my favorite brushes to use!

Neat!!! Ever since Mikki showed this off, I’ve had it sitting in my cart on amazon because it’s so weird but so neat! ....I put it in “save for later” and bought a ukelele instead. I have no idea how to play the ukelele. =>.

@@MeowMeowKapow hahaha oh my God, my attention span is almost nonexistent as well 😂 I just started watercoloring 2 days ago because I'm bored and in lockdown, I see that you're good at it, so I think basically artists always wanna try every medium, like David Bowie 😉 I've been reading novels too, the most common problem is that old book's protagonists can be so disagreeable, not just anti hero, they're terrible human being(Fountainhead, Confessions of a Mask, the Immoralist) On the other hand, newer books make the protagonists lack of negativity, but boy oh boy the author always make this "internal struggles" they face everyday, to make people relate to them, but no other character sees this, it's not shown(example: every other books these days) Wow look at my ranting. I wish you a good luck on your writing 😚👍 Make a realllyy badass antihero with no inner monologue or internal struggles, show it

Looks like a neat little set. With the colors I didn't like, I'd probably just replace with ones that I did like. That's just me though. I liked how the journaling sketches came out too. Neat little kitty lanterns :)

I bought mine from walmart. I think it’s a slightly newer version because mine has a sponge on the top and a mixing area that flips out. The black is my pallet is actually very pigmented

@@poptartqueen Yes it does :( I think maybe it doesn’t have glycerin in it. I saw of watercolor making video and she put glycerin in it to prevent it from cracking

I can see how this little set would work with art journalling. One of my journals has an elastic band that helps to hold it closed. A paint set like this could slip right under the band. I'm not sure I would get it; but, if I did, I would replace the paint with my own DS paints. Waterbrushes do take some time to get used to; but, I really like mine. I use them all the time.

Hi Eve, I have two Niji waterbrushes, a small and a large. The company name on the barrel is Kuretaki. I use these quite a lot. Then I got a waterbrush from Pentel Arts. It's a medium. This one is easier to fill with water. The brush doesn't stay wet; but, is easy to re-wet with a gentle squeeze of the barrel. The Pentel waterbrush is a bit shorter; but, it has a wider barrel; so, it might possibly be that both brands hold close to the same amount of water. I did have to replace the large Niji waterbrush when it somehow got clogged. I took it apart and could not see anything. So far, the replacement has worked fine. One thing about the Niji waterbrushes is that when I go to fill them, I have to hold the open end under the water and keep pumping the barrel until it is filled. Both brands are decent waterbrushes so far. Both are certainly better than the waterbrush that came with my Koi pocket watercolor paint set.

Might want to keep an extra brush that's to one's preference as well as the rubber band. That's a really cool set! 👍 I agree it's not for professional stuff, but it's a great option for sketchbooks and journaling. Thanks for demonstrating it. 😃 Sorry the water brush antagonized you lol. 😜

Love your detailed reviews as always! I love the compact size because it has a small footprint but very large paint pans to be kind to your brush. Would probably buy and use up the paints on greeting cats abs tags to free up the pans for artist quality paints. Paula in Florida

Great video Eve! 😁 These remind me a lot of the viviva wc sheets. Since those are made from dyes, I wonder if these are as well. I definitely think your right about these being more for journals & sketches instead of full paintings. I saw Mikki's video with the large 42 set. The first time I saw this palette, my mind went like: they could've just made a plastic case for this size for 18 half pans with space for either another row of half pans or the waterbrush and they would've ended up with a smaller, thinner set for the same amount of paint but with more space for mixing... But sure, this new design is shiny enough to marketing and sell.

Superior also has a koi knock-off XD as well as other Chinese brands. I'm scouting Aliexpress, not for the paints but the affordable packaging/pallette XD will swatch the paints with artist grade

Hi! :) I am aware, but thanks for telling me anyway! I tried commenting that they used my footage (and some of MalamikArt's too I think). Instagram doesn't have an easy way to report stolen images or footage and I really don't want to spend too much time on those thieves, they are not worth it! (Also, they would probably just repost it again...)

What a curious little set! It looks kinda robotic haha. I share the same sentiment about water brushes. The only one I have I filled it with ink wash because I was unable to find the appeal to use it with watercolors. They are great for watercolor pencils tho, since you don't need to reload the brush constantly to activate the pigment.

You still need to express it often to wash it out... I really struggle with it! Hehe! I think I would still carry a small jar of water and a real brush rather than a waterbrush, they are too inconsistent (when I use them!)

Always reliable XD The pans look like there isnt a lot of depth to them.. specially for the price it was going for. Edit: I just saw the price for the Meedan one you linked and the difference in price between that one and the one I saw on instagram is.. vast.

And it's even cheaper on Aliexpress! I paid about 10$ for the small set of 18. As a general rule, if I see something interesting in an Instagram ad, I search for it on Aliexpress and can usually find a very similar thing for a good price! (The glove to brush cats and dogs is one of those items...) I'm glad my timing was good! I'm always up to try curious new things :)

Hello. I think that watercolor set is same Prang brand. His pigment, texture, quality, etc...i bought that set today june 24, 2020, but Royal lengnickels brand, and i compared with Prang brand but another fornat. For me is same. Sorry for my english

They are fun paints! Great for practice and sketchbook works, but not really for pieces that you'd want to sell or hang on the wall :)

does your bottom mixing pallette under all the paints not fan out it's a pretty good size the size of the largest it's right under that last biggest set of pans i have the 18/25/42 set there are different colors in all sets

I saw the brand name written in Chinese on the case and it dose not mean superior. I guess their market team is just be lazy with their translation. I highly doubt you can claim adjective like superior as your brand name . Anyway the package looks really cool. XD

sherrycous the chinese version of the brand name is not a translation, its only supposed to sound like the word 'superior', it doesn't mean the word 'superior'
