10 out of the last 10 flights, I've had someone sit in my reserved seat. I either remove them myself or ask a crew member's assistance... They always have that "why is it so important to you where you sit?!" look on their faces... they spend the rest of the flight with a frown after being shooed off the window seat :D. I took the time to reserve it, you didn't.

Blankets in economy class in most airlines are not cleaned after every flight. Instead, they are cleaned periodically. The fact that a blanket is in a sealed plastic bag is no guarantee of it having been cleaned. Most airlines repack used blankets. I don't use blankets in flights. Instead, I layer clothing, putting on and taking off the outer layers depending upon the temperature.

I would not use the blanket. Lice, scabies, bad smells - sky is the limit! I only use them if they are wrapped in plastic (which at least suggest they have been washed), and then only if they smell "fresh"! I rarely use them anyway, because I can never sleep in economy class. On my rare long flights in business class, the blankets seem ok. In the old days, before blankets were wrapped in plastic, the air hostesses handed out blankets individually, only upon request. In my experience, they were always clean.* After a flight, they were not left sitting for the next passenger. *Edit: An exception may have been Garuda Airlines, HNL-DPS, 1991. Also notable: "Breakfast" at 3 am DPS time, high above New Caledonia, was a very sketchy shrimp cocktail. On the plus side, we stopped unexpectedly at sunrise on a tiny Melanesian island called Biak, where a group of children & teens sang a pretty song for us. I have no idea why we stopped. We got out, sat in the grass by the tarmac for an hour or so, and got back on. The children were mysterious.

Hello Josh, newer subscriber here. I'm a ramp agent for a major US airline. I've been doing it for more than 15 years now. It's a fun job but the work does wear your body down slowly but surely, especially over time. It's very common for people to get injured on the job. If you like being around airplanes and having a good workout lifting bags all day, this is for you. The free flying benefits are a plus too if you love to travel.

I flew Egyptair last week from Hurghada to Cairo and back. When we departed Hurghada…..no safety instructions……nothing 🤷🏼♂️ When we flew back to Hurghada (in the dark) all cabin lights stayed on during takeoff and landing, and after the plane stopped, the door was opened, the stewardess made the call to remain seated untill the aircraft came to a complete stop 😁

Don't assume that a blanket has been washed simply because it is in a sealed bag. Most airlines usually fold the used blankets and repackage them to make them appear as if they've been cleaned.

381mamadou Maghreb does not include Egypt. no matter your sentiments for Egypt or egypt air, it is the second largest AFRICAN airline and the third African country by population. It is dangerous to make assumptions about strangers or comparing things you do not know. Being a steward doesn’t mean you flew many airlines. South African has an old fleet, its in and out of bankruptcy and it does reflect on the service. Ethiopian is a step above Egypt Air and it has a decent modern fleet though a terrible excuse of a hub and well below par service, catering and entertainment. Kenya is also fairly bad, unorganized like it’s run by amateurs. None is on their way to even get close to the likes of AF, Lufthansa or British and not even by a wild stroke of imagination nearing the highest standards of Emirates, Etihad, Qatar, Singapore, Cathay, Ana, Qantas.. Africa is a beautiful continent that has such diverse offerings from the north to the south and from east to west but it serves no one to deny the state of things even in the tourism industry as a whole.

Your first leg included old seating and a blanket of questionable cleanliness, though the second leg appeared to be fine. Both you and he had good food and said that the crew was very pleasant. So perhaps Egypt Air is OK if you book on one of their new planes and if you touch as few surfaces as possible.

Some people have ailments that mean their immune systems are very weak, if a blanket is being re-used and the last person had a cold, that could aid to the detriment of the new passenger using it who has the low immune system. (e.g. People with MS have low immune systems etc). So i think its very bad that they aren't replacing the blankets with cleaned sealed ones.

The plane you flew on is just a bit over seven years old. So anything but outdated or old. Here some of our German airlines offer neither any inflight entertainment nor wifi. They even don't use the overhead screens anymore.

I like your videos and I like flying, but when I try to book a certain flight I had in mind (E.G. Ana a380 NRT-HNL) it's too expensive. How do you fly certain routes you want, inaugural flights, etc. without having it be double as expensive as the next flight down? Or do you just pay the 1,000+ dollars to get the flights you want?

Don't even know where to start, yes I guise I'm still traumatised from what happed to me on Egyptair a few years back..never commented cos I don't know how to, without appearing to play "the usual **** card...long story short I got mistreated in cairo airport on a transit to london because the airline messed up something on my boarding pass, no seat number for my economy class connecting flight to London...anyways in the end they were at fault and after a good few minuites of harrassment and being pushed around I was rushed to my London bound aircraft almost last minute with no apology whatsoever..as they walked me in to the aircraft the seats in economy class were all full and before I proceed to the next interesting part, I would like to think I am a fairly presentable professional guy working in an industry where by being presentable means every thing, hence no issue with my appearance apart from, of course the only thing I can NOT change🇨🇬 But then I can at least confidently say I am more handsome than most of the Egyptian crews who treated me like sh*t.😜..then came the moment and as I stood there in front of about 300 passengers feeling humiliated and looking like a criminal, the crew in charge of me could only find a seat in business class...she then turns back to economy class where I was standing and starts looking for a lone European face as most passengers around front row were either families or couples she couldn't separate..then she found an English guy somewhere along the middle row and asked him if he wants to move to a business class...mind you, i am the one wrongly mistreated and looking for a seat just to go home, if not compensation..to this day I can never forget the embarrassment on the poor Englishman's face..he looked at me with sense of shame as though to refuse the offer but then he was being rustled to hurry up..realising how he felt and the way the crew was rushing him I smiled at him and encouraged him to go ahead and accept the offer since all I wanted was for the trip to be over..to be fair to the Englishman it is hard to imagine him enjoy his business class treat because he has heard the whole conversation beforehand and knew exactly what was happening, and the disgust I thought he felt was so obvious that in fact it was what kept me see the bright side of the whole situation and helped me through the journey, I was upset but at least not everything is black and white Even though to this day I struggle to understand the level of prejudice even in businesses..Never Egypt let alone Egypt air!

Hotels reuse their blankets all the time..... You don't always get new sheets, so idk about the blanket situation....
