I got an exoterra about a year ago and It claims on the box thats its have stainless steel mesh. I was really suprized hearing about other peoples mesh corroding, now I know why. :D They had the older one.

I use both Exo-Terra and Zoo Med. I really like the single door on the ZooMed; however, Exo-Terra does offer more sizes. I’ve been happy with both. I really like the ZooMed door better.

Personally, I choose Exo. I got my Zoo Med at 50% off at PetSmart...the glass was cracked and the glue was sloppy all over.

An additional comment about the zoomed product, the locking mechanism breaks fairly easily. It’s happened to dozens I’ve worked with over the years and I’m forced to slide a card underneath the glass to push down the lock and open it.

Haha. I actually dont believe we have those in EU(?). But there are some other ofbrands that came with a similar design.

@@terrariumchannel zilla is a newer brand. So we basically have three major brands here. There are some crappy d list makers here too, though. I wish they weren't so dang expensive. Even the I heart geckos brand, who make aquarium conversion kits, charge like $50 dollars for what are basically pieces of plexiglass with doors that fit different sizes of aquariums. It's still cheaper than the good front opening glass enclosures.

Does that plastic piece actoss the top of the mesh pose any issue with lighting or heating? Does it melt with the heat or block the light?

Not directly if lights are mountes to manafacturers specs. The lighttops made by Exoterra are made so the cover the front or back half and fall between the struds. Ofcource if you place basking spot on top/against the plastic it will melt... so dont

@@richardsanchez5444 next to the ventilation. Having a screen top enables you to have all bulbs and domes outside the setup. This looks better, is saver (also for the animals) and easier. So that would (to me) beat the purpose of getting a setup like this. But technically you can yes.

which moss do you use here? i have vivarium moss and it must be green just like yours... but something is wrong with my moss he become so brown :/ how can i fix that? i have all the time moss in water.

Hi Marjaz, all kinds really, Sphagnum, vescicularia and some stuff I scraped from flowerpots etc. Good light helps, and a bit acidic place for them to grow on like peat or tropical hardwood.

Only seen them up close. Seem to have the same downsides as Zoomed, Exo and Another similar brand. I know they have an 120 variant but front has not a full entry via the doors and still only 45cm.
