Please turn off "Stable Volume" in the video playback setting (the first menu item after clicking the gear icon) as for some reason, this new KZbin playback feature made the video much noisier than usual.

Excellent video, Thanks Kerry!

All those NanoVNAs are a great addition to a hobbyists RF lab. I have a NanoVNA V2plus4 and I couldn't be happier. I looked into buying a "semi-serious" VNA but couldn't justify the expense.

so this is NOT using the harmonics for higher bands because it does actually have a 6GHz synthesizer in it unlike the nanovna which only had a 300MHz synthesizer and used harmonic mixing
@KerryWongBlog2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insights. Interestingly though is the noise floor in the 3-6GHz band is significantly higher than the other bands hence I assumed it was using harmonics.
@amirb7152 жыл бұрын
@@KerryWongBlog it could be that they do not actually use the 2871E up to 6GHz but rather maybe up to 1GHz or 2GHz and then use its harmonic content for the higher band? or the higher noise is simply because of something else. If it is due to harmonic mixing there should be a clear jump in noise floor. can you see such a jump? i dont have this device nor its schematics....

I wonder if it could be pushed higher than 6.3GHz. Especially around 7.5-8.2GHz is where X band satellites are, would be very nice for LNA prototyping.

yes, the hardware can reach 9GHz and some control software allows it, see joe smith videos

Tinysa ultra can reach up to 12

Very well done video - Would like to see more "how to" as well as other software recommendations. Also how to on upgrading bios - Thanks

Thanks for the video! In terms of accuracy below 2GHz do you recommend getting the litevna 64 or some alternatives like nano vna?

Would be possible to measure SWR of a GPS antenna with integrated LNA? The LNA is usually powered by a DC source over the signal line....

would you recommend this over a NanoVNA-F V3?

I still think the Deepace KC901V is one of the best portable VNAs on the market in terms of performance for the price but it does cost nearly $2000.
@lo27402 жыл бұрын
lol, you should rething your standards before making such statement, do not forget the specs of these "vna" are closer to toy than actual instrument, sure they can do simple jobs job with half the dynamic range of an actual VNA and a lot of interpolation, but still ,they are not really precise instruments. The KC901V performance is relatively low, you'd better purchase an used actual instrument, even 20 year old, it will be several order of magnitude better, for example my protek vna dynamic range is 130dB and it's flat even before calibration.

Can someone help me, I bought the lite vna, but the writing on the menu is in Chinese, I don't know how to set the language to English. I apologize for the question, perhaps inappropriate!

What is minimum frequency step or better to say frequency resolution? I know that synthesizer chip can't produce every frequency so what is min step between 2 points?

I plan to buy one for fpv tuning at 5.8 ghz swr. Is it good in this range ?
@KerryWongBlog2 жыл бұрын
Depends on what kind of precision you are looking for. The performance of the LiteVNA between 3 and 6 GHz are not as good as in lower frequencies due to harmonic mixing which is inherit to the design. That said, at this price range you don't have many choices available either unless you stumble upon a piece of used professional instrument on eBay...
@adbas62012 жыл бұрын
@@KerryWongBlog it is mainly for swr tuning.

I have one of the nano VNA too and I was just wondering if it would be best to unplug the battery when it is not being used because I find myself not using it in several months and I've just wondering. Wood the battery to last a little longer? If I unplugged the battery And would it say the electrical components in the nano VNA from getting damaged or would it cause damage by keeping it unplugged from the battery? Thank you
@LordGryllwotth Жыл бұрын
Yes there will be a little drain. How much you have to measure if ya want. Charge it to 3.8v and store it at that voltage with the battery unconnected.

Hello Researchers, I also have to buy this kind of VNA... Please suggest me good model low-cost device with a purchase link
