Ken Mary are a phenomenal drummer. Remember back when he toured with Alice Cooper, recorded with Chastain, Bonfire and Fifth Angel at the same time.

It's a strong album but nothing on it has hit me like "Seven Seconds 'Til The End of the World" or "Burn The Sky" from Blood in the Water so far, but those tracks were immense and it was one of my favourite albums of 2021. I have a feeling this is going to be more of a grower than that one. I loved BITW straight out of the gate

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM - the band's 15th studio album: "I Am the Weapon" - released: 13th September, 2024 kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6HHomZ5iLSqr6Msi=u4R3-3dakUBL09tF .., here's a unit amongst a few pure or genuine metal acts that has stood the test of time and like other iconic ones, i tend to give these the credit on the merit of longevity: 30|40|50 years on (they definitely can't re-touch those glory years of their most sought-out and re-listenable released material) ..but kudos to them for continuance and possessing much of the same passion as to when they started (even if forging through the ever-changing landscape) of the music industry, with a couple of original members .. .., one of my favorite tracks: 'The Head of the Snake' kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5bSapKgad6kmbMsi=YoGsSNyH2q-_mvms .. .., the new material may have selected tracks that are exceptional (in this case 'Burned My Bridges' - track 4 to 'Cold Steel Lights' - track 8) and the great production to heightened it's presence, though for the most part remaining a one-time listen! .. .., this concept can be applied to most outfits that are past their prime (onwardly in good favor and delivering the goods) the lone newbie album release in recent times that can be considered top tier (on repeated listens is "Invincible Shield") by an elite unit of heavy metal's foundation and with legendary status: Judas Priest .. .., i may consider Eric "A.K." Knutson (FLOTSAM AND JETSAM) to be my second placed favorite thrash metal frontman|vocalist with Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth (OVER KILL) leading the way, both being great long-serving figures of the [sub]-genre .

Excellent album. As others have said, their last few going back to “Ugly Noise” have been great! I hope there are upcoming near-future reviews for the new Nightwish and 50th anniversary Tom Allom remix of “Rocka Rolla”. The remix is already on digital platforms and it sounds amazing.

I said this a milion times before and I'll say it yet again...Eric AK is one of THE most legendary thrash vocalists in the genre's history. This guy does it all he's one of my all time favorite vocalists, but just the only negative i have with him is his atrocious lyrics on the albums man...they're like a 12 year old wrote them the worst ones IMO are on The Cold Album my god! sometimes i have to just try and drown out the singing because they're that bad! But all in all this band has been churning out bangers since the mid eighties with some lineup changes along the way I'm just glad one of the original guitarists stayed the course in Mike Gilbert. I wish Ed Carlson would have stayed him and Gilbert were a deadly guitar duo back in the day but anyways this album kicks fucking ass! Flotz put out another banger for 2024 these guys IMO should be mentioned in another version of the Big Four along side Testament, Death Angel, and Exodus.

There's a reason they almost exclusively play their old classics during live shows... Ken Mary is such a great and innovative drummer, he's just doing the one-dimensional old school high speed-stuff here. Production sounds awful. Listen to Doomsday and then listen to THIS? Where is all that gone that made Flotsam one of the greatest Thrash bands of the late 80s?

They play mostly old classics which is no different than any band who has been around for 35+ years. After a host of albums that nobody listened to during the 90s and early 2000s, the band are back making some of their strongest material since the early days.
