Nothing makes me happier than seeing you get a new Zappa album. Even watching at the lowest resolution here, I could hear how much more dynamic it is.

I have never questioned your knowledge of Frank Zappa and this video confirms it. When I moved out of state from OH I had to part with my Jazz From Hell CD. The other CD's I sold back to a record/CD resale in West Park were some that the store owner was eager to chastise me in listening to (a true WTH moment) until he saw my Jazz From Hell CD and then he gave me a pass.

I saw him at S.F. Davies Symphony Hall around the opening of the venue, around the mid 70's, with some kind of orchestra that I had never heard or seen before. The sound in that hall was amazing, and nothing that I had ever heard before or since. It must have been this same tour as this album. I have to get this cd now.

Hi there Bill. Nice to see the 40th Anniversary reissue of OF. I never really got into this one completely but I appreciated some of it. Any time I hear that there are more Zappa reissues coming out I always smile. I love those Motown Anthologies too. Super stuff/adds Bill. Always the coolest catching up with you~ Rob/Boston

They are all identical and it is great stuff. The last Zappa album to be released during his lifetime.

Am I The only one that doesn't like the packaging on the CD issue ??? Sliding CDs into cardboard sleeves is a BAD idea!! They could have simply packaged it like other releases such as Hammersmith Odean or Meat Light...This Music Deserves Better.. The ZFT needs to rethink there packaging.. Plus Games and costumes??? JEEEZZZZ..... I LOVE FRANKS MUSIC...Lets get it together Ahmet!!! Sorry Bill I needed a place to vent.

OTHER - The name is George DuVIVier ZAPPA - But there's a big problem with Discs 2 and 3. It's not the complete concert - Strictly Genteel is edited to remove the post-song jamming section where they were joined onstage by Beefheart. The goal for any archival release of this nature should be to reject the conceits borne of the artist's vanity, and document "history as it happened" "warts and all" Which means this 3-cd set doesn't invalidate the (admittedly lo-fi) audience tape. Which at a stroke turns this into a rather pointless release (yes I did listen with headphones). Speaking of which - another late-1973 release is due. What, yet another release from what is, in retrospect, one of FZ's more underwhelming tours/bands?!

Thanks for the correction on pronunciation. The liner notes state that the tape ran out before Beefheart joined them and it is not an edit. I have not heard the audience recording. Thanks for the info.
