Thanks for posting this video. I will be looking to replace my garage door in the future, so this is valuable information.

Glad it helped, meant to do it a while ago. I really struggled with finding anything out from a real life owner.

I have a draft in each slat coming from just inside the guide rail. When i move my fingers from the slats towards the guide rail i can feel a draft coming from each one.

Hmm…that does not sound right. Mine stopped drafts at least

thanks for posting, just looking at one of these and it's a lot noisier than I was expecting!

There various options for the quality of the door. I choose the more expensive option, this was installed in Feb this year and so far no problems to report. Also came with free security light and intruder alarm. Thanks for sharing.👍

Which version did you choose in the end?

We got the Transform Pro in Chartwell Green, installed end of Feb 2024. The door when closed feels strong with no flexing.
@RealLifeGadgetReviews5 ай бұрын
This might be a life saver for those looking to but. I am not 100% sure on the model I got, I paid ~£1k, looking at their site now that looks like the ‘Transform’ model which is now £895, whereas your model is showing as £1275. So perhaps worth spending the ~30% more and going model up. Just one question - any idea how wide yours is? (As I guess the wider you go the more flex will occur). *Also not 100% sure, but thought I did go for the next model up….will have to do some digging as the invoice doesn’t state model.

You have the transform, the lowest cost option. The transform pro is quite a bit better but not much more money.
@lostsoul3723Ай бұрын
I am right in thinking this is the transform ? The single skinned base model? I’m looking at the transform pro, apparently it’s twin skinned with foam between the two layers of plastic.
@RealLifeGadgetReviewsАй бұрын
Not 100% sure, but pretty sure its the cheaper of the 2 options at the time.
@o7717717195Ай бұрын
The transform is twin skinned with insulation but the transform pro has thicker profile aluminium and the insulation is double the density of the regular transform.
@o7717717195Ай бұрын
It also has one touch closing.
@lostsoul3723Ай бұрын
Yeah, I’ve had a guy round from garolla and I’ve went ahead and ordered the transform pro. The price difference between the transform and the pro was only £200 and the slats are much thicker, I thought better insulation. I work on my motorcycles all round and it can get pretty chilly in the garage

Was this the entry level door - I’m looking at the Titan one Thanks

@@focusfanatic123 I cannot tell from the invoice, I THINK its the entry level (it was £1000 if that helps).

Hi was this door 55m slats or 77m ?

I am not 100% sure, I would assume 55mm
@o7717717195Ай бұрын
It's the 55mm slats.

How secure is the door looks very flimsy
@RealLifeGadgetReviews5 ай бұрын
Very flimsy. Few kicks and you would be through I would guess. But same really with solid wooden / standard ali garage doors - grab a crowbar and job done in under a minute. Only real alternative would be commercial grade (£5k plus?)
@kilm223218 күн бұрын
They have a Secured By Design accredited version now which is attack tested and rated.
@johncole11453 ай бұрын
On what you've shown us via this video I'm not impressed with the quality of this door. The door mechanism and fobs seem low grade. I think I'll be looking for something better when it comes to replacing my electric up and over garage doors.
@RealLifeGadgetReviews3 ай бұрын
Yeah - only thing is I am not sure of the cost of getting something more substantial security wise; for all I know it might be £3k more

Horman doors have good reviews
@adambaker955012 күн бұрын
They are awful, we have one and had loads of issues Broke in half, motor gone, gets stuck half way up... We contacted them in warranty 4 times and they never replied. Ended up conveniently getting a reply when the warranty had run out and ended up having to pay....since then its gone again. Shocking quality...
@RealLifeGadgetReviews12 күн бұрын
Thats a bit crazy, might be to late now, but if paid by card could you go through them for a chargeback?

oh god, no way, far too noisy, I have a coach house, imagine that racket everytime the door gets opened and closed.
@RealLifeGadgetReviews4 ай бұрын
Yeah I was surprised, wasn’t really expecting it, although was really sure what to expect to be fair! One good thing…if someone gains access and goes to open it, a bit like a noisy gravel drive - you’re going to hear it!
@itk24934 ай бұрын
@@RealLifeGadgetReviews I'm a bit noise sensitive, it's bad enough with the open and over crashing everytime they open and close, I'm looking for something quite as the garages are below my house office.

@@itk2493 yeah thats going to wind you up pretty sure. Maybe their most expensive option…but no experience of that!
@austinhumphris7358Ай бұрын
Sorry to tell you bluntly but you bought a terrible quality door. The motor will last around 2 years maximum. If you lean on it in the middle it will fall through. Also. Not insulated, a huge gap in the underside of the box at the back. Also no safety reverse function (illegal) You would have been far better off putting some chipboard on hinges, more reliable. Yes i am a door engineer of 15 years and have to rip these out all the time for disappointed clients.
@RealLifeGadgetReviews22 күн бұрын
Yeah sound about right. Advantage is the other door was hanging off and well overdue for replacing, probably 20 years ago! So having this is a bonus...as long as noone stoves it it - then it works well for insulation/keeping out wind etc. Strength wise its like paper. (Not quite as its stood up to all the very bad storms we have had so far in terms of wind)

A door ‘engineer’? Is the that a grandiose title for an installer?
@austinhumphris735816 күн бұрын
@wabwee60 anyone can install a garage door but not many people can reverse engineer a problem out of them. That's the difference between an engineer and an installer.
