Outstanding video, Reney! Beautifully presented! You make so many powerful points, and you stress the importance of having safe and affirming spaces. These books allow kids to see their lives reflected. It's just so necessary. Thank you for this excellent video.

Thanks Pat! I did try to put a little more work and soul into this one! The best will notice and you have distinguished yourself once again!

I like the idea of affirming spaces. I’m not generally a reader of graphic novels, but I’m glad you read these and took the trouble to lay it all out. Thank you.

I checked out Gender Queer from the library after my previous banned books video had comments claiming the book was obscene. I was be talking about in a week or two along with other books labeled obscene.

Oh, great! I will keep an eye out for that! It will be interesting to see which area of the library it's shelved in.

Love this. I love that you made it simple and easy to understand and with no pressure for anyone to know it all already. And I absolutely agree that books, and libraries for that matter, are affirming spaces and vital to protect and keep that way. Those are heartbreaking statistics that your presented. The ones about the schools though, tell me that education is what is necessary. And you did a part of that effort with this video. Great job.
