If you replace the stock pickup with an LR Baggs Anthem, it would make a good stage guitar!

I love LR Baggs. I did not state it here but this one has Fishman and the Gibson comes with the LR Baggs. Thanks for the tip😃

One of the two most overrated guitar brands that exist! Epiphone is just fine.

This acoustic has a beautiful color. I have a 1991 Vintage J200. I paid $2400 Canadian. They go for $7000 Canadian here now. A benefit of being old.
@guitarnotions6 ай бұрын
It's nice to find benefits to being old😁 for sure. They do age with us and sometimes go up in value. I would love to hear that J200. I can only imagine the low end tone on that beauty!

Great review. Most of the channels now a days plays guitar with a hard pick and lifeless hard strumming. But your playing and explaination helps getting the original dynamics of sound. Keep it up 👌

Look out for used Epiphone Masterbilt acoustics. They are crazy good bargains. I bought a new Masterbilt Century De Luxe at a price that was too good to pass up. It's all solid wood, ebony fretboard, bone nut, light aged gloss finish. It sounds really good. For the money it's hard to beat.

I am amazed at the workmanship on these instruments! It makes it so much fun to find more affordable prices. Thanks for watching my videos. Congratulations on that wonderful sounding Masterbilt❤️

I got an Epiphone inspired by the J45 but the skinnier nut width (1 5/8 vs 1 3/4) was not to my taste.
@guitarnotions6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for Sharing about your J45. I like me the feel of the J45. It's much more comfortable to me. So glad you listen in😃

@@guitarnotions The Gibson then has the wider nut is that correct. ???

Yes but it’s very minor Gibson 1.725. And the epiphone 1.70 do not think it would be noticeable

I have the IBG hummingbird and the IBG J200. I love both of them, but I love the hummingbird a little bit more than the J200. I agree with you about the tuners. They get the job done, but they do feel a little cheap. I may replace them at some point.
@guitarnotions6 ай бұрын
Wow, you definitely have good taste in guitars. The tuners will serve you well but it would not surprise me if the tuner buttons break at some point. They feel kind of light. But for the saving - your right you could just replace them. Thanks for listening in. 😀

I really lust for an IBG hummingbird. I had an old Kasuga Hummingbird copy in the 70s, made in japan, but all laminate. I loved that guitar, but gave it to someone who needed it more than me.... theres one for sale on marketplace near me, but he wants $1000 Australian for it!

The imports - generally speaking - are overbuilt to avoid warranty issues. That guitar weighs 5 something lbs generally speaking, because its back and sides are thicker than the gibson version. Epiphone is not alone, same issue for lots of import companies. Eastman, for example, who builds in a factory, but primarily by hand, still overbuilds to avoid cracking while on the container ships. They also don't use the same processes like hide glue, are not scalloping braces by hand, not using the same woods, etc. Does it make an impact in the sound? I don't know. Anyway, nice review. Edit - addendum - the only maker of 'cheaper than our USA line' imports I have seen/heard that does not do this if Guild, specifically with the Westerly "1" series - D-140, D-120, OM-120, etc. Those guitars are very light and resonant , you should try one, similar prices to the Epiphones.
