Review: HD 720P Spy Video Glasses from China

A review of some cheap spy glasses I bought from China on E-bay. They boast 720 HD video quality with the capability to take pictures, as well. I also give instructions on how to record and take pictures with them, because the instruction manual I received with them was for a different model. I assume I'm not the only one with this problem.

not bad at all...it wasn't shaky even on the bikeride...i wonder if it's possible to put my regular prescription lenses on it..? also can you tell if the camera being on the side makes much of a difference...thank you brother...

as stated use class 10 card. Still one thing that bugs me is the output file, which is AVI and not .mp4. I think its also VGA upscaled and not true 720P

Is there a reset button? These glasses were working great for a couple weeks but now they wont turn off and a blue light stays on. Also, there was double vision and incorrect coloration.

wow, i definitely have to get myself one of these. The video quality of the glasses that you showed riding your bike was pretty good, 720p HD in a glass, what more could you ask ? i personally think the video quality the glass takes is way better thean the video quality of most cellphones.. !

GorskiTV thanks so much for posting this detailed review. I was in the midst of buying the exact same device off ebay. I didn't realize the camera wasn't position in the middle of the unit. I was hoping you could make a recommendation for something better that (a) is in the upper low range to midrange budget department, (b) recording lens in the middle of the device.

They seem very blurry when in fast motion, such as when you move your head left and right. But they seem quite clear when still. This was apparent when I set the playback speed to 0.25X after you entered the grocery store. I'm interested in getting these because I have an extremely bad memory. When I'm fixing electrical devices, I tend to forget how to put them back together again; I can never remember which cables or screws go where. I would like to know if these are good at recording the disassemble process clearly enough, as they seem like the perfect solution. But I don't fancy spending £8 (their current price on eBay UK) just to test them out. If you ever repair your PC or something, and record the process with these glasses, please link me to your video.

when you install the tf card for the first time is the something inside the slot like a white thingy/paper that has to be removed before u put the tf card in?

I have similar glasses and they drop frames !! if you film for example someone playing the guitar...after 15 minutes the audio and the video are totally out of synch ! Testing such thing ( dropped frames..lost of video-audio synch) should be a part of your test/review

I have a pair of these and they aren't half bad actually.I have a 32gb Sandisk in there and it works great but not sure what the maximum duration of a video clip would be anyway,seems like the length of the battery so maybe an hour. These glasses are meant to be worn in a very well lit areas like a store etc. and they actually are pretty good under those circumstances.

No wide angle. It has the same 50mm lens, that of the 808 key fob camera. It magnifies the shakes too much.

I thank you for creating the review, I agree with many of your comments on the glasses. I am disappointed that I have yet to locate durable and discreet high definition recording eyewear equipment that is worth purchasing. Despite the average video and audio quality, I am interested to try the glasses you have reviewed. Thankfully the price has decreased to eight dollars.

Sometimes a short coming can become an advantage. I could easily see someone using footage from these glasses to make a retro style film. As cheap as they are you could hand them out to all of the actors, make some modifications to the lenses so they don't all look the same, and have the characters just all happen to wear glasses, lol.

I was given a pair of the exact same glasses and after charging them overnight they keep turning off soon after I start video recording. there is plenty of space on the tf card. was wondering if you ever had this problem? they also kept shutting off in standby after only 30sec-1min. id think the battery was flat except I don't see how it could have been....
