I've watched a few of your films now and I'm so grateful to you for making these exhibitios available to us. I'd like to give you a tip that changed my relationship to art. I was told that you should spend longer looking at works you don't like, ask yourself what you don't like about them, question them, try and experience the work even if that's only your repulsion from it. Honestly this opened my eyes enormously, although it does mean every gallery trip takes much longer!

Hi Sue I’m so glad you like the films and it lets you see the exhibitions. Very interesting what you say about trying to engage with works you don’t like. I remember an art teacher I had saying you should try and open yourself up in front of the work and let it wash into. That’s a bit like what you’re saying. It’s interesting. I think what I find hard is a lot of work these days seems to really be non-visual and just a cyper for some often kind of trite message. I find that harder to spend time with as the visual aspect if kind of irrelevant. But I will try your idea with some visuals arts pieces I don’t like next time!

Fascinating! Can’t believe they just grabbed it all from one museum. But I did enjoy it!

Interesting comment. I actually thought the two artists complemented each other quite well. But your viewpoint is also interesting.
