I think you are the best reviewer of rc's .... you keep is simple and give your honest opinion........ and your not afraid to try out the entry level cars or plains.... keeping in mind that some people dont have(( unlimited )) funs to spend on one car,..... JUST bash it to peaces.........Sometimes less is more.

You should get a commission for this review because your review is what convinced me to buy a Sabertooth. I bought extra hinge pins and shock parts and had to replace a hinge pin after a high speed cartwheel. Other than a couple of other minor breakages (that were all my fault), I've been loving this truck. Thanks for your review and all of your reviews, I always wait to see what you are reviewing next, your reviews are the most informative and very well put together.

I don't know about bashers but in racing diff oil is generally thicker in the front the a little less in the center and then a little less in the rear. Also with shocks I would run 50 in the front and 40 in the rear to get more traction and it won't go nose down in jumps (if it does). I really want to get one of these realllllllly bad now!

Droop screws don’t set your ride height. They limit the down travel so your shocks don’t over extend when in the air

Great review, mate. I will say, though, that I do feel the Badlands love, but only on 4WD's. They are a horrible RWD tyre for bashing or anything actually (particularly in narrow SCT size). Regarding the kit tyres, it's a thing where non-racer manufacturers try to emulate the look of top dollar racing gear for what ever reasons, without matching the compounds. A set of Proline mini pins would still bash somewhat better than the kit plastic rollers.
@badlands366
@badlands366 10 жыл бұрын
"They are a horrible rwd tyre" ? Put Badlands on a 2wd then take it to loose, loamy dirt or grass, this is what Badlands are meant for and excel at.
@AussieRCPlayground
@AussieRCPlayground 10 жыл бұрын
Badmuthatrucker666 I would have preferred a more versatile tire similar to the Badlands or Trenchers perhaps. Just something with a deeper tread pattern would have been nice. The "pro" looks is great, but that's not how the car has been marketed. Still, they're not completely useless, I've seen worse tires on RTRs with bigger price tags.

All three diffs come with only a little bit of grease in them, however, the car can be driven 'as is' without any problems. But if you want to put oil in the diffs, it's not hard to do and it should take you no more than a couple of hours to do all three of them.

Can I run a 5000mAh 4S1P 14.8v 20C battery with sabertooth without modifications?
@AussieRCPlayground
@AussieRCPlayground 9 жыл бұрын
Not really. You'll need to rewire the ESC to have only one plug and not 2. Plus, the car would be unbalanced with only one battery on one side. What you can do is run 2 x 4S packs in parallel. Hobby King sell the wires needed to do that and you won't have to modify anything. Hope that helps.
@LorePetter
@LorePetter 9 жыл бұрын
You don't need to rewire the esc: Take a stump of cable, solder on a male/female 4mm plug in each end and short one of the battery connectors on the esc when you want to run a single 4s pack. Take it out again when you want to use two 2s packs.

Not sure... I think you'll need to ask Hobby King about that one... Sorry buddy.

i dont think it would hurt the motor since its an 1875kv. Swap the esc, go 6s and gear up.

What would be a good radio system for this vehicle for around $100?

If you want a cheaply priced, extremely good quality one, try the hobbyking GT2. 2ch tx, 3ch rx. about $20. I've used it, bought it year and a half ago, still works nicely
