Great review. XLR inputs and outputs at this price point make it a no brainer. Yeah it does look exactly like their pre-pro from 20 years ago but since you can hide it away it doesn't really matter.

It would be nice to be able to see a video of the work that Dirac Live does implemented in the Integra DRX 8.4 and especially if the room has acoustic treatment and of what type. @@bjm5090 imo the Sony isn’t even close 13.2 CH A/V Receiver (150W + 150W 8ohms, 1kHz, 2ch, THD 0.9%) right off the Sony website it definitely won’t have the power the integra does using 1kHz rating is weak and the total power rating is 540 somewhere around that number vs over 1000 for the integra

Would this be good for my Focal Chora 826D speakers and center with a SVS PB 1000 SUB ,&Chora 8 inch in ceiling rear speakers ? I’ve looked at the big Anthem AVR , Onkyo TX RZ70 , Marantz cinema 40 and SR 8015. Pioneer Elite VSX LX805, Sony STR AZ7000ES, Denon AVR A1H. I’ve been looking at these and there’s so much to decipher( eArc or other competitors) .I want an easier format with an easier form speaker calibration . I would like 8k HDMIs. I would like around 150 watts of power . I see some units play music with 24 bit chips and some play with 32 bit chips . I assume 32 is better . How do I get all the things I would like in a unit . Finding a 2 channel to run my Polk R700s with a sub will be so much easier than the confusing AVR search .

Its funny how some of these receivers look exactly the same 20 yrs later. I had an integra about 20 yrs ago that looks exactly the same as this one. They need to quit cheaping out and update the looks. NAD and Anthem did it. Why can't anyone else. NAD and Anthem look so much better than anything else on the market.

It punches! The highs are clear and crisp. The mids are rich and deep. And the lows are tight and focused. Not a single note in the songs I listened to was muddied or unclear. You won't be disappointed 😁

@@bjm5090 I recently purchased Integra DRX 8.4 from World Wide Stereo, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with its quality. Previously, I owned a Marantz Cinema 40 that I specifically bought for its music capabilities. However, as advertised by the company, its sound quality was not up to par, as some frequencies were lost due to applied processing. In contrast, the Integra 8.4 is an entirely different beast, offering a natural and clean sound that is free from additional processing. As an audio enthusiast, I appreciate the raw audio output that this AVR provides. It also has a variety of options to choose from, ranging from stereo to Dolby Atmos for music listening. Personally, I prefer the stereo option. As noted by the reviewer, not a single note in the songs was muddier or unclear, and I can attest that this is 100% true.

All Integra receivers have on-screen-display user setup menus. Definitely a good idea to include footage of navigating the OSD menus. I will remember that for the next video. Thanks for the suggestion!

6 weeks in with the 8.4 , replaced a 7.8 that died. So far it’s the worst piece of electronic equipment I’ve ever had. My advice to anyone buying this unit to make sure you can return it.😢

Power conditioning is pure BS! AudioQuest cables are the best rip off and same fo Red speaker cables!

Integra..UGLIEST looking designs...a shame. Very easy to choose a Marantz for premium looks.
