Review: IXS Montevideo Adventure Motorcycle Gear

This is a review of my Adventure Riding Gear. I've been riding it for ~50000 kilometers now and I felt to have enough experience now to leave some words. I'm showing the IXS Montevideo Tour LT Air. 2.0 Jacket + Pants, an inner Jacket and my rain gear.

I like the leather / textile Combination.

Yes, it's great and also hasn't gotten brittle during all that time, although it became wet quite often. The new version is without the leather parts though. However, it is going to be much lighter instead.

Thanks for the review! Have the same IXS Montevideo gear and can only confirm your observations! On warm days the bright color and the air flow flaps really make a difference!

Thanks, unfortunately the sound isn't that great, but we try to improve it in the future. I'll have a look at that Scott Jacket, but since we're sometimes riding in rain for days, I doubt that there is any gear, that can keep us dry.

Thanks for the full review. So as far as I understood it's not all season, could be cold in winter.

No, I would say it is a great all season jacket, especially because it isn't waterproof. That's also the reason why I like it a lot. In cold regions I wear it with wool underwear + wind stopper/rain gear and in extremely hot regions I ride with only a T-Shirt below + open the vents. With 30°C+ I would never like to ride any waterproof riding gear.

Thanks for your great review! A question: can you throw this jacket in a washing machine? The reason I ask this as it has large leather panels, and leather typically doesn't like machine washing.

Hi, thanks - great that you liked the video. I wash my combo every once in a while in a washing machine. 30°C, without protectors and without spin laundry. After it's dried, I treat the leather parts with leather wax or spray.

Did you use hip protection?

Miriam has some hip protectors in her motorcycle pants, but we're not using special hip protection.
