The White Fang 1.14 is the best pick I have ever played on electric. It is the equivalent of the Blue Chip on acoustics. Just perfect.

G'DAY from Australia. I'm a new subscriber. I just got my 1mm White Fang picks about a month ago. I'll never change. Absolutely love them! I've gone from JP 2mm jazz 3's to this. Finally found my favourite pick. Great review mate, Steve 👍

Black Fang all the way. While the White Fang has better grip and quality feel, it’s not very versatile as it doesn’t catch lighter gauge strings very well. I find myself missing notes when soloing but hey, it’s made for Hetfield as you said.

Ok so i have the noin signature flow picks and tried the black fangs yesterday and was immediately blown away by how much better the black fang was. But here is why...Ok, so i loved the grippy feel of the flow but i play very close to the strings with my fingers and found that alot of the time with the flow i would miss the string a bit. With the black fang i had zero problems with that as it has a much longer attack. So, this morning i ordered the white fang flow because i am addicted to buying picks. So, please tell me that the white fang is the best of both worlds...am i right? How different is it from the non signature flow?
@HeavyRepping4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub Diego :) The non-signature version of the Flow has a different grip pattern that covers a wider area, whereas the Fang has the grips off the Primetone series, at least in terms of layout. Following this test I did try the thicker one, which I think is the better pick - this is a personal thing, but I think you start really getting the best out of Ultex after the 1.5mm mark. It doesn't have to go further than that (though of course you can), but the really thin stuff - under 1mm say - feels a bit plinky with Ultex. Delrin can go under a mm no bother because it's naturally softer and a little darker, and it gets much smoother-sounding once you get up to 2mm. Try the Fang Flow, and if you don't get on with it, definitely give the thicker Flow series a go. I love the 3mm, it seems like the right balance of what they're trying to do.

@@HeavyRepping ok thanks a bunch. How long is the white fang compared to the black fang?
@HeavyRepping4 жыл бұрын
@@diegofiorillo6412 The Black Fang is 31mm long, the White Fang is 29mm - 2mm in this instance is a significant distance, and you'd definitely notice that.

@@HeavyRepping So essentially it is the same length as the regular flow?

I use black .73 and don't get any problems with grip or loss of tone . If you play through mud , you will get mud. As I'm hearing here.
@HeavyRepping5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video - I'm upgrading my gear as I go along, so you should get a better sound next time. I don't think there's one right pick for everyone, so if you're digging the 73, that's great :)
@DP-eb2yn5 жыл бұрын
@@HeavyRepping true man I appreciate that. Just to be fair the black fangs shine with a fat distortion . I find the .73 really pushes the sustain without glugging the sound , on my emg 81 bridge position the .73 is like an angle grinder , maybe the thinner profile assists my grip too . I do agree with an emg 85 in the neck position these picks can seem a little dull but that's a clean neck sound thing . I'm yet to order the white fangs this week from Sweetwater . I'm not sure which profile to order . So it looks like a variety pack .
