Great review as usual. I really enjoy your vids. I'm more of a USA made enthusiast at this price point, but you have got me looking more closely at this knife. I love the blade shape especially. I've never heard of Kunwu, which makes me somewhat of a noob I suppose. I almost pulled the trigger last night on one, but need more information and opinions about the maker. I will say that the cut test you did was just awesome. The knife knows no fear!

kunwus been killin it. loved their slipjoint and fixed blade too. told myself i could skip the compadre and then gave in after your first vid 😂 the size really does feel perfect though!

Been waiting for this. When I first got it the detent was a bit lackluster. After a couple weeks though it’s broken in well and I really can’t complain. It does have a snappy reverse flick now. It makes a great work knife for me. I hope they eventually make a backspacer without the lanyard hole. I think it would look better without it. Great knife.

Yeah good idea, a backspacer to fill in that spot and get rid of the loop

I think the Compadre is amazing. Objectively an excellent knife. A close 2nd for me is the new TRM Bulldog. Excellent mash up of some of their best design characteristics.

@chiefsmakahoe0444 Is the Bulldog better then the Atom? For me I would say yes. It's sturdier for sure. I would take the Compadre over with though. Available, cheaper and better overall IMO.

That is the one i want. I think the Compadre is smaller than the X Padre ..! ^^ And the Django is cheaper. But not the same blade and handle ..! ^^

Man, the stonewashed compadre looks so much darker than my stonewashed padre. I wonder if it just looks darker on camera or if it's actually darker

Absolutely love my Compadre, it is the perfect size. BUT mine has developed some up and down blade play. Anyone had this?? I have opened and closed probably 10 thousand times but no hard use. It is not much but enough to where you can feel it if u shake the knife. I hate it because what now? Send it back across the world for a month. Waiting to here back from kunwu maybe they will send a new Lockbar insert. Idk..I'm starting to wonder does every frame or liner lock eventually develop some lock issue. Almost every knife I've bought eventually gets something. My brand new TRM Atom has up and down play. The only knife that has stayed rock solid is my Aus10 demko ad20.5 and its my yard knife. I guess some of my spydercos are still solid the smock and para2. I don't think knives can handle open and closing thousands of times. I gotta quit the addiction 😂

you know whenever i hear or read about people saying "oh this knife is a rip-off" or "these guys just copied that knife", it just goes out the opposite ear it came in. there is a reason that shapes or style of knives arent patented. to sit there and actually post this type of a comment is absurd and just shows how low a persons intelligence really is. there really is only so much you can do with the over all appearance of a knife design. anyways, enjoy your kunwu. thanks for the video.
