I have a padre, and love it. I have a two CKFs, Evo and Evo-T - love them both. The CKF is twice the knife relative to the padre. Both from a price and quality perspective. After having hands on time with both knives, I am confused as to why people compare them. They have similar style blades (you could say that about a lot of knives) but other than that, they are totally different. The Evo is a far more refined knife with significantly better action,

I disagree. I think the Evo isn’t even twice the knife, but I do agree that the clip point resembles one another but not that the Padre looks like the Evo in whole. I feel like the Padre has action and a detent that’s better, but I do know that the Evo has changed a lot on the last two releases from the one PJ I handled, so that could be part of it. Maybe I need to check out someone newer version.

Love the design of the Padre and they are always on point with there Heat treats. So it should have some quality Vanax, which is awesome. 👍. Great Video JD, keep them coming.

I ordered the Padre-X, I'm a tiny bit worried now aftet dwelling on the axis lock on such a big hefty blade! So idk. Yet, I'm still very excited. My second Kunwu knife. First being their Pulsar with the same lock. Also got the version that will match my Pulsar

The Kunwu Padre is for people who would like the CKF Evo 3.0 or 4.0 but don’t want to pay a heavy premium. For 299.- the Padre is a superb value plus the Vanax blade.

I’m definitely going to buy one but it’s getting skiffs. The point of them for me is to add more rigidity. You get a solid bronze bearing cage instead of a thin, stamped one. You can feel the added solidity from them. Especially in knives like the QC Nine

So this one comes with cages multi-row bearings. Actually I think the major of Kunwu’s come with cages ceramic multi-row bearings. I elected not to swap because it ended up being less bearings that were smaller in this one case. 👍

I just have to say wow! Kunwu needs to give whoever sharpened their knives a raise. The last three Microtech I’ve bought have been dull to where u can run ur fingers up and down the blade and not get cut and this padre whittles hair!! I’ve owned multiple evo 2.0s and 3.0s and for me the padre is better for sure. U can get 2 or 3 padres for one secondary evo. This knife is money!!!!! if you’re on the fence you need to get off the fence and get one or two!! Edit: haven’t took this knife outta my pocket since I got it! It’s that good!!!!

Will be cool to compare the blade in person witb my evo 3, that thing is huge. Its very nice, but to me not worth the retail price i paid. If was id be getting the Bull knives XYRO, i wanted alot but its a hundred over my high price that i would have been willing. And very sad about it!

Kunwu has been killing it lately! I've got the Padre and Tau S and they are great. Not sure I'd sell my Evo 3.0 for the Padre though. The Evo is a grail knife I'll never sell. The Padre is a great add to any collection and will be a grail of it's own to many people. Do you have any of the Evo's? Have you seen the PMP Ares? It's also a badass frame lock in S90v. My Evo, Padre, and Ares are all displayed together in my glass top display cabinet. Instead of saying one is better than another I'd say get both if you can and if you can't find or afford an Evo the Padre is a very fine substitute. On the Ares they go for $290 retail.

I almost picked one up, but at $300, it’s right on the edge. Good video. The Padre has some good features. But, I own a CKF Evo. Do you own one? The Padre has FLAT slabs of Ti with rounded edges. The Evo has milled contoured Ti frame. There is NO way the Padre has better ergos. I will be picking up a Padre soon. But, I will guarantee, the Evo has it beat hands down. No pun intended 😜 👍🤘

I’ve handled the EVO and for me the Padre feels better in larger hands than the EVO did, to me. It always comes down to the individual though, so I do try to say for me this or that. Doesn’t always translate though. 👍

For me, better ergo, size, and price. The action is so close I’d call them equal. Padre had 2 opening methods and I like the way the opening hole is done more on the Padre. 👍

Not being smart, but is there really a $300+ difference between them? I haven’t handled the 4 but the 3, I couldn’t say there was that big a difference in quality, material (PJ) and def not on heat treat. Just wondered what your honest answer might be.

Evo is overrated and everyone who says they’re amazing don’t use them anyway. 3.0 will cut you with the heel of the blade when closed and the 2.0 is good but not $700 good. People forget they’re made in China and assembled in Russia. I’ll take a $300 Padre any day with better steel and use it as intended. If it had a hollow grind it would be perfect.
