Hi Josh, just want to share with you my experience traveling Malaysia Airlines from Manila to KL. After having the lunch served on that flight, I was still hungry. And I asked the flight attendance if I could have a second serving. I wanted to have the 2nd meal while in the flight. But I think the flight attendant could have mis-heard it. She thought I wanted to have take the food home. She was kind enough to prepare 2 set of meals and packed them in a plastic bag. How nice!

Had similar *economy suite* previously but it was MH A380. The crew was superb, every 1 hr provide me with water (like my own personal crew) sometime scold me for not sleeping during the night...haha haha

I had 4 flights on MH from NZ to Tokyo in Sept/October and EVERY flight had hardworking and friendly crew. Without exception, the crewd were up and offering drinks/ peanuts roughly 10 minutes after takeoff. The vegetarian meals were a little hit and miss -much depends on catering kitchen at point of departure. Only gripe is the hideous A330-200 (lease, ex airberlin) operating to NZ. Otherwise I would happily travel MH without hesitation. Unlike some airlines that coast along on past glory, i sense MH are really trying to get their mojo back. Why Josh did u not go for the nasi lemak for brekkie? Every airline seems to offer the 'cadaver looking' chicken sausage and 'Goodyear tire masquerading as an omelette'. Nasi lemak is local. Always go for the local cuisine on an airline.

I love their service as well we recently fly malaysian airlines from london to manila return and looking forward to fly them again.crews are friendly and attentive to our needs.i can definitely reccomend them to our friends.

Malaysia Airlines used to be the best in the world for inflight services, even beating Singapore Airlines on numerous occasions in the 80's n 90's... Coz of MH370, it's labelled by many as one of the most dangerous to fly on... I still prefer Malaysia Airlines to Air Asia, though... N i do agree with u Josh, some MH stewardesses on long flights are just not as bubbly n smiley as the stewards, like they are unable to mask their tiredness or boredom...

There's nothing wrong with the airlines actually... just lots of bad luck and bad management. But I remember taking it in the past. The food is GOOD!! AirAsia has one of the best in-flight service and food choices for a budget airline.

Sadly one plane accedently (Or maybe pilot caused) plane crash (which many other airlines have) and one plane being shot down (which wasn't their fault) ruined their reputation

I just completed my 50th flight this year (although 44 of them were short hops on easyJet) and I thought that was good going! To add to this, I've flown economy LHR-Australia with MH a few times over the years and they always did a good job. Much better than certain UK based legacy carriers.

Hi Josh, Thank you for reviewing and giving very genuine reports of all the Airlines. I also follow Sam who is equally good and nice on the job. My parents had travelled about 35 years back from India to the Far East..ie Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong kong and Penang through a package tour and majority of the Airlines which they travelled were Malaysian Airlines and Cathay Pacific. They were giving very good reviews around those times about the airlines, food, and hospitality given to them. FYI. Sadly I have lost them both and was remembering their experiences on these wonderful birds.

hi josh. glad u had a better experience with MH on this flight. it does boil down to the crew and the load tho. of course with a light load we normally go the extra mile or we will get bored. for me anyway haha. a full flight can really get exhausting and does leave much time for that extra touch. oh and MH has been able to put the menu and other notifications on the IFE on the widebody fleet. just depends on the IFS/purser. pity about the girls tho.

My long haul flight with MH has always been great. Glad you enjoyed yours. Love their peanuts and also the Nasi Lemak is a must try malaysian breakfast when flying with them. If you are lucky, they will give you two meals😉

I have made an "economy suite" many, many times. My brother, who used to travel exclusively First Class or Business has begun buying all 3 seats in economy, especially if he's traveling with his wife. They enjoy that so much better - depending on the length of the flight, of course.

I haven't been on a flight with so few passengers since the First Gulf War in early 1990s. Flights to CPT or JNB are always full or so it seems. Displaying the menu on the screen should be easy for all airlines and just like the Safety briefing it would always have precedent to display. Suggested this to BA a couple of years ago but think the old systems prevented it - perhaps new system would permit. Interesting review as usual! :)

Flying MAS internationally is heaven ( I find them good to fly with, ant time) , compared to some of the internal flights i have taken with MAS , it is always such a bun fight from check in , till you are off. Oh well , that's the price you pay for living in Johor. Thank god we are a short hop across the boarder to Changi (Singapore) , for 90% of our flights.

Eva Air were great with drinks in Economy and Premium Economy with pre flight and regular walk throughs during the flight. Once flew Japan airways Cairo to London via Rome, I did consider an upgrade but the desk clerk said the flight was only half full and she checked me into a 4 row seat. It was a 3 am take off and I declined the meal for the first leg to Rome. Put on the free slippers and went to the toilet on my return the crew had made up a bed across the four seats, I slept soundly till the wake up for landing at Rome, we were staying aboard for the refuel and new passengers. I did notice my shoes were missing and the stewardess said they would be returned at Heathrow. On the second leg I enjoyed a steak and veg meal. As the crew took their landing seats one returned my shoes, they had been polished wow. Sadly my company never booked me on JA again.
