Absolutely loved all the Fish era albums. Not sure why this isn't always ranked as high as some of the other albums - I think it has real bite. Jigsaw always gets me. Incubus is one of the best songs they ever did and it morphs into Fugazi so skillfully. Great album .

Love Marillion and love listening to Fish On Friday on Facebook. For folk who don't know, Fish does a two hour live broadcast every Friday night, unless his internet is bad lol. Love his voice, love the lyrics and loved the artwork as long as i can remember. Always remember my dad was really into them and always heard Punch and Judy and Garden Party blasting out as a kid. I bought my dad Misplaced Childhood when it came out for his birthday. I was only about ten at the time. Also, Mark Wilkinson also did the last Acid Reign album art as well.

Loved the Fugazi album back in the day on its release, bought the previous double cd reissue (which was and still is great), but this set takes it to another level entirely. The album has never sounded so good, the full live Toronto set is fantastic, the extras are great and the documentary is simply terrific - the definitive version of a classic album. Cheers Pete and Steven, loved every minute of the show!!

This has always been my favorite Fish era album. I remember back in `84 hearing the intro to Assassing for the first time and knew something special was happening on this record. It blew me away and started me on an incredible journey of not only listening to prog, but really really listening to prog. I was 14. I got to see them on the Misplaced Childhood tour in Toronto. And the Clutching tour in Toronto as well. I believe to this day ( Nov. 18 2021 ) I`ve seen Marillion 26 times. Not bad for a Canadian lad. I`m looking forward to Marillion Weekend in Montreal this upcoming July 2022. It`s always like coming home.

I was a 21 year old stoned hippie from Montreal. I was at this show! A band called the Box from Montreal opened. They had a couple of hits on the radio at the time. I was also at the King Crimson show that was released as Absent Lovers from around the same time. Both of those shows were at the Spectrum. I saw quite a few shows there. I saw Roy Buchanan there. I was blown away. I’ve seen Marillion a couple of times. I saw them doing Childhood at Massey Hall in Toronto a couple of years later. I also saw Queen at the Forum in Montreal, there’s the DVD of that. I’ve tried to find myself on the disc but have failed. It’s incredible to think that years later stuff I went to would be released commercially. I never thought that it would be even possible back then yet here we are today. And I won’t even mention all the bootlegs on KZbin. I’ve found shows that I was at there as well. It truly amazes me….thank you oh Great Computer God.

An exemplary box set ... bought mine directly from both Fish and Marillion to support the artists directly ... and to get the signatures ... very happy. As Pete and Steven point out - the Marillion and Jethro Tull sets just "work" ... great material, proper documentation, well presented ... fairly priced .... (well at least until they are all snapped up ... wish I'd picked up the Songs from the Wood set ... sloppy on my part) ... the Fugazi extras is the set, as described in the video, are excellent.

Bought Script on vinyl in 1983 only because of the cover. Loved the music. Watched them live at Göta Lejon in Stockholm on the Fugazi tour and at Eriksdalshallen on the Misplaced tour. Ahh! Great memories! Followed them until Misplaced and stopped listening to them after that. Got Clutching much later in my life which also is my favorite. Sorry Steve Hogarth, but the Fish era is "my" Marillion.

I was lucky to see both the Fugazi and Real To Reel tours in Liverpool. The latter saw the debut of Side One of Misplaced Childhood. Fish caught somebody recording the new material and went into a diatribe about bootlegging which I believe he now regrets just for the historical importance of it all. I only bought the twelve inch singles at the time but dipped out when I heard Kayleigh on the radio. Eighteen years later I saw Fish for the first time since Real To Reel and he performed Misplacdx solo for the first time again in Liverpool. It was also Liverpool where Marillion heard the first playback of Fugazi. Those 1984 gigs had Rage as the support. Drummer John Mylott died between shows and inspired the song Mylo.

I watched Fish in a tiny pub room and he performed the whole of Fugazi. There was Fish completely bald with a big pot belly, an octogenarian keyboard and an octogenarian acoustic guitarist, and the sound guy was wearing a tutu! I thought wtf is this?! It was one of the greatest gigs I have ever been to! Unbelievable gig!!!

They played 2 nights and I bought tickets for night two...so we turn up and it ended up I'd bought tickets for the FIRST night! So we thought what to do and ended up buying two more tickets off a tout. It was probably the best concert I've ever been to. It was just before Christmas and the atmosphere was amazing.

I have mine from the man himself Fish. For his signature only, it’s worth the price. As this is not an Hogarth favorite and he not sing any of that album live, I choose buying from Fish. From the four albums Fish era I bought 2 from Fish (Clutching at Straws, Fugazi) and 2 from Marillion (Misplaced Childhood, Script For a Jesters Tear). I bought Fugazi and Clutching from Fish because they are more personal to him. Of course the Brave and Afraid of Sunlight are from Marillion.

I very recently bought the 1st 4 albums based on the ranking episode and the 3-run album episode referencing Marillion, my first 80's purchase from SOT's recommendation. I haven't had a chance to listen to any yet but am sure they will have an impact of some kind based on the passion our hosts have instilled regarding this band. Looking forward to it. But, what is it with Fugazi as to why Steven or others might reach for it 'the least' given that there are so many favorites as well highlighted on this particular album by almost everyone. I guess I will find out.

I bought the first four Marillion albums a few years ago, and on the first few listens Fugazi was my favourite. It seemed darker and murkier than the others, and I liked that. Script is the most 70s influenced and showing their inspirations. Misplaced Childhood was the most accessible. Clutching at Straws was a slow burner, but now its between that and Fugazi for my favourite Fish era Marillion album.

Great review gents, definitely on my 'to buy' list... Also possibly my favourite album by the band. I saw them on this tour, as I did for all their Fish era albums (fond memories of being bayonetted by Fish from the Aberdeen Capitol stage during Forgotten Sons on the 'Script.. The Clutching at Straws remix was completely unnecessary and it didn't add anything to the music, on the contrary it diminished it in my opinion. But this Fugazi remix is BRILLIANT. The entire album sounds MASSIVE and the music's emotional impact is 100 times more powerful!

My favorite Fish-era Marillion album, probably my favorite Marillion album, period. Great package, great new mix (although the original mix/sound never bothered me at all). Would have liked to have the single B-sides (especially the "long" version of Cinderella Search) on one of the CDs as well. The lyrics to this album (especially Jigsaw and the titletrack) are the best lyrics ever put to a rock album in my opinion. Pure and just brilliant poetry. And I don't understand how - from a prog perspective - Clutching At Straws can be viewed as a better album then Fugazi. Don't get me wrong: There's great stuff on there, but to me there's three or four songs on that record that are weaker than anything on the first three albums.

I really like the remix on Clutching, it offers a different insight into the songs and certainly highlights different aspects of the music from the original mix. @@rikgay857 I have to agree. The big man was on top form in Southampton last night. The band delivered! Vigil was sublime.....

The album version of She Chameleon is a low point, there is an earlier version of the track on KZbin that is musically totally different, and way better.

Fugazi always sounded very thin and tinny to my ears. As much as I like the songs on Script, Mick Pointers plodding drumming has always bothered me, and Fugazi never grabbed me as a whole, my least favorite Fish era album

The new mix makes a big difference Eric but in general I agree regarding Fugazi's original mix. I seem to be one of the few who doesn't mind Pointer's drumming on Script.

@@TranquilityFireReid great review from you and Pete, I may end up grabbing this one, I don't generally get remasters, but Fugazi definitely needed it, nice job. Funny thing is, the songs on Script are strong, so I understand why the drumming can be overlooked

I always thought this was the weakest of the Fish albums. I don’t really like most of the songs and a remix won’t improve that for me.

Agggghhhhh, you defaced the artwork with that sticker! I have a friend who does that and it makes me feel faint. Like you guys say, I've only just cottoned on to get that box set when it's out. Fugazi was a decent price as well, unlike some.

Weird name for an album after a famous band, but guess they still where Minor Threat in the mid 80's. Or maybe they wanted to be a punk homage to a neo prog band lol.

Awful band. Very light weight prog for people who don’t like real prog.
