Hey! I think you're right about the number written on the armatures indicating the TPA. I just re-watched this video, and the sonic armature had the number 10, whereas the Godzilla motor had the number 24 written on it. That stuff is super good to know, and I do think they did it for that specific reason. Good call!

Hello! I'm new to gearboxes and the internals of aegs. I currently own a g&p magpul sentry. It runs on a m120 motor which is decent in full auto but abit sluggish in semi. I want a good trigger response as I play tons of Cqb and I crisp the trigger response is in some of the videos on KZbin. I don't want to break up the gearbox, so should I put in a high torque motor to gets a good trigger response? By the way, the battery I'm running is a 7.4 as it was said that using 11.1 will wreck the gearbox quicker. But with the new high torque motor in do you recommend using 11.1 or 7.4? Also what motor do you suggestions getting? Great Vids and keep up the good work! Looking foward to you to replying, thanks!
@valleyriverarms9 жыл бұрын
Douglas Lau if you get a motor like the Matrix godzilla I would argue that you could run an 11.1 for a while without much damage to the internals because the motor is so slow on full auto and is relatively low draw amp wise. It will give you the trigger response you're looking for but your full auto will suffer

also one more thing, i've recently installed a spectre mosfet into my gun and i'm really worried about the settings and i'm having trouble understanding it in general. the motor breaking, rof control and precocking are mainly the settings that confuse me the most. what do you recommend using in general? (just for reference, my setup is a A1 motor with a pretty much complete lonex sp120 mechbox. i only switched out the piston for a SHS one and added a sorbo pad to allign the teeth engagement with the piston) i mainly intend on using the gun for single fire. it would be awesome if you can help out, thx a bunch! awesome gun btw! scary actually.
@valleyriverarms10 жыл бұрын
I honestly only have the battery monitoring on. Otherwise everything else is turned off. In your case you might want to turn light braking on but otherwise you dont need precocking and burst.
@RogueSystem08710 жыл бұрын
valleyriverarms i see... do i still need braking if i have the anti reversal latch in? also i've changed the settings on my spectre now, but for some reason, it beeps after i fire it a couple of times. i've narrowed the problems down to a overcurrent/short circuit problem (because the wires get really hot). do you happen to know how to fix this? i'm not so sure why it's happening o_O (sorry to ask so many questions, but your M4 works so well and.. sounds unusually responsive)
@valleyriverarms10 жыл бұрын
Assuming all your wires are in tact it's probably your motor drawing too much power. Mechanical resistance possibly. Braking doesn't really have anything to do with arl. It depends more if you have overspin

Hey, I'm making my VFC 417 into a DMR. I want it to be firing around 500 fps (give or take 10 fps) but this is my first time trying a build like this so I'm not too sure what motor to use. I installed an M140 spring in the gun, and I've been told that the internal components of the gun are good enough to handle it, so I haven't changed any of those out. I'm going to put a longer inner barrel in as well. For a motor, what would you recommend I use? Rate of fire is not too big of a concern with this build, but I'd like the trigger response to be somewhat snappy. Any advice would be awesome. Love your videos dude

+Brandon Raymond As long as you have a mosfet to intersect the electric current to reduce arcing in the trigger contacts. As well make sure your Bevel gear is correctly shimmed with the pinion gear of the motor to reduce breakage or chipping of gears. A 11.1 lipo is okay, id say around the 1500 or 200 mah batteries. But do NOT run it without a mosfet, and not a burst wizard or a cheap plug and play one. A chimera fet or a nuke fet will work greatly. Nukefet if your going for a budget friendly build then they are the way to go as they are 25 dollars. But you do need to solder, but its worth it as it will boost you semi auto response.

Hey, I love your videos and was wondering a few things... Just bought a VFC Hk 416 and want to upgrade it to be a zippy, crisp trigger response. I just want the rps to be above 15 and below 35 and want to know if these upgrades are good and what else I could buy. I just bought a POM piston by magicbox, a lonex A2 motor, a new spring guide and M100 spring, a Lonex piston head, a 3/16 sorbo pad and a neoprine pad to go with it, a magic box cylinder head, some o rings, and some matrix shims. I want to know if the VFC gears are good enough to keep or if i should go to a 13:1 or 14:1 ratio...? I was wondering if the Burst Wizard King Kong super 2 mosfet would be good as well... I just want to make this gun perfect as it is my first custom internally built gun. It is a V2 gearbox and everything else is stock besides what i listed. Please let me know what else to get to perfect the gun and get the quickest trigger response possible. If you could, email me at lmjustgoud@gmail.com as it would be greatly appreciated!
@valleyriverarms10 жыл бұрын
wouldnt recommend the burst wizard. Most of your build list is pretty good though. VFC gears are actually like 16:1 so you can keep the gears for right now. I would instead up the spring to an m120 and short stroke 3 teeth off the sector gear assuming you want about 350 fps. Install a simple mosfet (the gate Pico SSR is good) and use an 11.1 lipo and you should be happy with the results.
@lmJustGood10 жыл бұрын
valleyriverarms any specific reason to get the PicoSSR? It IS non active breaking and has no burst option (not that it matters)...? Do I solder it directly to the trigger contact like the burst wizard or just into the wire as shown on evike? Which three teeth do i shave off on the sector gear (first or last- heh im a n00b)? Should i get a full metal SHS piston and short stroke that too since it is a 15 tooth piston or is the POM a good one (8 metal teeth i think - did it to keep the weight down)? also would you recommend swiss cheesing the piston? Thanks!
@valleyriverarms10 жыл бұрын
Watch my video on short stroking but you want to take off the first 3 pickup teeth. For the Pico you want to solder it to the trigger contacts. There are instructions on gates website. On only recommend gate because their qc is good and it's super tiny. If you want more computerized functions the fet will get bigger.
@lmJustGood10 жыл бұрын
valleyriverarms Thanks, is there also a specific reason for full metal vs ~1/2 metal tooth pistons? Should I swiss cheese? Do I shortstroke BOTH the piston and sector gear or only the gear? Should I switch the POM piston to an SHS full metal 15 tooth piston? Thanks!
@valleyriverarms10 жыл бұрын
Again watch the short stroking video. The half metal teeth pistons have more rack support but the all metal pistons are stronger on the pick up. Swiss cheesing never hurts

In the past, I tried to do a custom motor with my matrix turbo motor and my classic army neo magnets torque motor. The problem here is... My shaft bended.lol I don't know if you have any laying around in your room because I'm curious how it will sound if you put the matrix armature with the neo magnets shell. Mixing high speed with power. That should be over kill. 1,000 rps. lol But yeah... I'm serious, though.
@valleyriverarms10 жыл бұрын
I think you're confused... The magnets of a specific can aren't specific to high speed. The torque or speed of a motor is more determined by the windings in the armature.

So a speed motor is for ROF and a high torque motor is for range?
