This whole collection looks rather gimmicky to me. That blue jumpsuit with the lace trim looked kind of crazy. But even if I hated the whole collection, I absolutely love your reviews and commentary about how to look at patterns. I find them very helpful. I always get a good laugh when you speculate about where people are going in some of the outfits. Lol Thank you.

Sew excited for your review. I always look forward to these videos. The first dress is cute but it would take you an hour to get it on and off. I'm really over all these tops and dresses with no waistline and tons of tiers and ruffles. The sarong skirt is the only one I might buy. And that orange jumpsuit looks like a shiny orange flying squirrel! Hard No.

Do you think maybe the elastic in the cutaway dress goes round the bodice part? Is that why the centre strip has those weird creases? It certainly looks like the lower edge is elasticated on the women's version.

Oh my word, your commentary was hilarious, even my husband laughed. The Pretty Woman top was what I thought immediately. And even though I lived in the 80s, there are some styles that do not need to be on repeat.

Regarding the plus size model in the 1st dress. Think there are a lot of women who are not in the miss size range but are not at the high end of the women's range. I think it's good to see these garments on a variety of body types. It is a very cool dress. So glad these videos are back.

I guess I thought the Plus sized women would want to see someone that isn’t well-represented in photos. Someone more like them and not a mid-size.
@gokiveliki2 жыл бұрын
@@InsidetheHem I yet have to understand why would that feel like being more represented. Is majority of plus size women over 5'9? Because that's what these models are.

I kind of like 8313 in the romper version. Also, in thinking about the collection as a whole, why are they using so many hooks and eyes? What a PIA to deal with and especially with those when they are located in the back of a garment!. There are beautiful RTW garments and I really don't remember ever having to deal w fussy closures like that and I have many close fitting garments for reference. Usually a hook and eye is just that... A hook and eye. Not several!

In a slightly weird collection, it’s the pretty woman cut out top with of all things - A SHRUG - where I draw the line. As you say, we’ve been here before and it wasn’t good then either.

I do not care for that elasticised neckline. I think that would make a lot of people look like a sack of potatoes. There is a new look pattern that is very similar to the strap version.. It has an inset midriff that may be more difficult to sew but would probably be more flattering. If that bow actually ties you could tie it however big you wanted it. It reminds me of Sarah Ferguson. I laughed out loud as you tried to identify the crotch on that jumpsuit. The romper version of the jumpsuit is definitely cuter at least in the drawing. I think the long jumpsuit would look better if it were a print or monochromatic. The white belt is also just too much. Your comments about the bat wing jumpsuit are so much fun. confession.I like that pattern and I bought it. I think it would look better with a V neck lline which is what I think I will do with it. Imagine a caftan with a crotch. That is hilarious! How funny you think that top is early 2000s, and I'm thinking sixties mod. I think any woman who has a nice figure would like to wear those tops. Doesn't matter how old she is. The pintuck top would be adorable in gingham. Now I need that pattern. The 1st Laura Ashley pattern looks like a gunne sax. Both of those patterns are very retro. I have the original version of that eighties unnamed designer skirt pattern. I don't remember if I made it or not.

Some look interesting but when I think summer I do not think of wearing 4-7 yards of fabric. I expected cute crop tops and 1-2 yard wonders. Also everything needed a lot of notions as well. Just feels expensive and if I am paying that much for fabric and notions then I want a more fancy piece.

I actually laughed out loud with this one. Seriously, you were very diplomatic about that flying squirrel construction orange satin suit...good grief, the model looked about 100 years old. Make that in a 70's floaty fabric and it could be very glam, but in that orange it's a disaster. And then the same model in the crop top after and she looks young and fresh. Man, styling can really make or break a pattern.
