Review: Microfibre Scrub Pad vs Detailing Brush for interior detailing

Are these Scrub Pads as good as they seem for interior cleaning? Let's compare them to the traditional detailing brush and see how they compare, side by side.

Very interesting comparison and great video! I've been using a boars hair brush to do the same and it takes a while too! Did you just use one side of the pad?

Same and this really was easier and quicker. I just used the white, furry side. It's still really gentle. I did swap over to the other side to wipe any excess product away before then wiping away properly with the yellow cloth.

The microfiber side is intended to be used for applying dressing. So you clean with the scrubbing side then dress with the other side- 2 in 1 tool

I noticed that almost nobody in the review videos uses the microfibre side for the second cleaning step but microfiber towels instead...isn't the back side meant to be used for removing the dissolved dirt? Regards from Amsterdam

I think it is, but the pile of the MF is really short and the surface area is small, so unless it's a quick and small area I find that it doesn't do enough. This is especially true when you've rinsed the pad out between areas for example, the backing is saturated then so it just makes the surface wet, which you then need to dry. You've made a good observation and it's never explained! I was just thinking this morning that I could re-do this review with more extreme examples to show how effective this is and also how much quicker it is to use.

What side of the pad is good for different surfaces? For example what would i use the microfiber side for?

You could say for wiping up any residue, but in all honesty I don't really use the microfiber side for anything unless I'm just doing a quick clean on a small area (like a single door card or sill).

how long would you recommend using one pad before chancing to a new one?

I'd say it more to do with condition than age, as some people could get it to the point it needs replacing far sooner than others. In my opinion I'd say that when you're in a situation whereby lots of the bristles seem to be crushed/flat, that's a good time to change. I use the old ones as tyre dressing applicators.

Hi! What do you think scrub pad can be used with green star (1:10 or 1:20) on headliner and the side door trim ? I'm afraid it will loosen the glue. VW golf VI. Thanks a lot!

In short, yes. I'd go 1:20 first for sure. Are you spot cleaning a specific area or doing the whole roof?

@@markhoffmann126 I would suggest very lightly misting the APC on to the roof lining and not on to the scrubber pad for that job, so it doesn't all become over saturated.

I've not, mainly because I've got a system that works so well for me that I don't feel a need to try anything else. I generally use Koch Chemie Pol Star everywhere in the interior as it's a cleaner with a little bit of protection baked in. And if it's not that dirty I just use Malco Clean and Shine (got a video on that one btw, it's quite interesting).

Express is great but for seats get something dedicated like pol star from Koch chemie.

Equally as good and far less damaging (especially on leather - on the plastic trim you can still get away with the magic eraser, but the soft touch dashes and leather...they're a bit sketchy due to their abrasive nature.
