Great review. I've decided that i'm going to buy nelke and the legendary alchemists for the nintendo switch later on when it's on sale. The game really looks great. It's great that all of the characters from previous atelier games are in the game and nelke is a great character too. Even though it's a spin-off atelier game, i'll still give it a try. I really loved the op movie for nelke and the legendary alchemists to be honest too. The animation really looks great too. I still have to buy the other atelier games for the nintendo switch too. ^_^

I bought this a week ago. I’ve never played an Atlelier game before. I’m enjoying it quiet a bit so far. I think I’ve put around 6-8 hours in. My only concern is that a lot of it feels a bit like MMO fetch quests. I usually like this kind of play but I worry that it will get repetitive. So far my alchemy recipes have been relatively simple. I’m hoping as they get more complex that the gameplay will really sink they’re hooks in. The environment is gorgeous and the characters are funny.

I know I'm way too late, but what's the music playing in the background? The tune with the accordion? 😂 Love your Atelier videos, currently rewatching all of them

Nice review! I'm going to get Japanese physical copies of the Arland trilogy games for Switch. And I've got my Lydie & Suelle copy a few days ago. :)

Awesome! I wanna get more of the physical copies of the Arland series sometime just to have physicals haha

@@JRPGJungle Yeah! I've ordered the games 2 days ago. Let's see how long it'll take for them to reach my location. It's just such a shame I had no other option but to buy the Japanese versions. As a collector I'm quite happy but as a player... I don't know Japanese. I might have to buy the games again digitally. Don't have the money for them now. I may make a video showing the games when I get them. I plan on buying Lulua too, but that one's likely going to be a European copy like my Lydie & Suelle one.

The Dusk Trilogy is really good. I hope you enjoy them (The Plus versions on the Vita are the best versions). That said, when I learned how Nelke played, I decided to give it a pass, as its not the kind of genre that I'm into. But I can't deny that it has its charm by introducing some of the older protagonists to newer players (hopeful of future ports or remakes of those particular games). And I can see some people getting into it despite the complexity of the town simulator and material management. Nelke isn't for everyone, and that's fine. Not every game out there can satisfy everyone's craving, so its fine if some miss it. Just be glad you experienced it.
@JRPGJungle5 жыл бұрын
Well said! It is really nice to be introduced to the older characters and I think there's a good opportunity there to reboot those games - would love to see an Atelier collection with the older games or even just PS Classics in English at this point, but I guess we'll see :3

How apt to wake up this morning and fine this on my feed, as I finished my own play-through last night after about 110 hours overall. I was at least spending half an hour to 40 minutes in the Weekdays (Workday) sections. The last three main tasks really tested me and I had to load an old save which was at the beginning of Task 9. Because if I didn't I would've failed and got the 'Bad' ending. In the end I found myself getting the 'Good' ending and I can't wait to try again to work on getting the 'True.' I really enjoyed myself with this, but new players going in or people who have been played it for a bit, please start having a save file at the start of each main task especially Task 7 onwards. As mentioned a lot can go wrong very quickly if you're not too careful.
@JRPGJungle5 жыл бұрын
110 hours, well done! Task 9 had me nervous I’d have to reload too, just made it through after carefully thinking about it a lot lol I’m sure you’ll get the true ending easy with the playthrough bonus though! But yes, those saves are essential, even just for peace of mind!
@PloysMaw5 жыл бұрын
@@JRPGJungle Thank's for replying and for wishing me luck, honestly I want too see if I can get the 'True' without the play bonus and I'll be starting fresh next round. I'm more familiar with mechanics now and I only had to one last research task to reach before coming to the end. Though this is months down the line, I would like to finish the Arland trilogy before Lulua comes out. Before Neke I stared playing Totori for the first time and I can't wait to learn more about her story.

Oh I wish I’d watched this video earlier :( I bought this game because of the “Atelier” name but I was completely disappointed by it 😕 it’s not that it is not my style of game but mechanics are really confusing, you can’t even explore the world at all lol oh well... nice review even tho I’m late to the party lol 😝

Been playing the game for 5 days now and have been loving every minute of it. But so far I'm bad at making cash. I do think the game should have you fight more enemies or give you more time out in the field to do that. Hopefully Gust makes another one in the future cause they tend to refine their games over time.

Hello! I have been watching your videos for a while now! And you were always my goto if I need to play a new jrpg! So first: I would like to thank you for your amazing videos! And second: here is a jrpg I don't think you picked up! Fire emblem echoes: shadows of valentia! I have been only playing for hours and it is already my favourite fire emblem! I would like you to try it and do a first impressions video about it, if you want to do so of course lol! Anyways baii!

Thank you so much! It's actually one I was really interested in it when it came out, but I think I was playing something else at the time :3 your comment's a good reminder, thank you! :) I probably won't do a first impressions video on it anytime soon as recording 3DS footage is a little hard, but I hope to at least play it sometime as it does look really good :) thank you always ^_^

I've been looking forward to this Review and honestly this is game is a disappointment and is far from what I expected of a in-series Atelier colab, I would love the interactions between characters in the series but other thing else just keeps me away just like how atelier totori left on me, I would like to try this game but at a cheaper price and hope that atelier luluna gets rid of this salty taste i have after this poor release. Great job
@JRPGJungle5 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve played of Lulua, it’s way better. The character interactions in Nelke are good, but yeah, it’s an interesting direction that direction alone will be hit or miss. I hope you get the enjoyment you want out of Lulua :)

Always appreciate the reminder, still trying to fit backlog games (including Persona 2 which I wanna finish first) better into my schedule at this point. New games I do for review tend to get priority, but I'm trying to find a way to fit in games like Persona 2 and ones in the backlog (including the Cold Steel games) so I can get through things, no promises I'll do it in time for CS3 but please know I'm trying! :33 It's just sometimes hard when I try keep up with new stuff is all :3

oof, the localization issues kinda turn me off on the game. If I do get it, it'll be on a deeper price that I'd normally pay for it. gonna have to ask the Steam forums as I'm also curious how good/bad the optimization for PC are.
