I have failed to find any information on how the whole thing works when there is significant distance between players and the smartphone hosting the match? I first became aware of these through this review. Picked up a set of pistols and two rifles and took them to the company christmas party. We had a blast with them. This is an amazingly awesome introduction to Laser Tag. I remember back in the 90s there was a new laser tag system that came out every couple of years and then died off just as fast as it came into existence. It's nice to see Nerf getting into the laser arena. The price point isn't absurdly high, they seem extremely easy to learn, functionality is good. I like them! I look forward to seeing more stuff like this from Nerf in the future.

The outdoor/indoor setting actually changes the sensitivity of the receiver. The divergence of the IR LED is fairly decent. The app actually allows full volume control (even mute the blasters) of each blaster independently. I am absolutely astonished by the quality and distance that they can be used! I got mine just today at Dollar General for $20! I was actually expecting not so great quality, boy was I wrong!

The two guns are really good and pretty accurate up to around 200 feet if you take the time to aim at that range. - Being able to just turn the guns on and go is really nice, we usually play a deathmatch game with 1 life and last man/team standing wins. - All Devices is much better than Single device. We had too many disconnects since we play in a parking structure over 2-3 floors. - All Devices also increases the rate of fire of the pistol/Alphapoint and allows each person to individually set the volume of their own blaster. - Deltaburst is a let down unless everyone uses the App to make the damage the same. Alphapoint starts at 2 dmg per shot and at max level 5 dmg. - Deltaburst starts at 1 dmg per shot and at max level is 4 dmg per shot. Also you are stuck with the 3 rounds per trigger pull and they fire slower than the Alphapoint. - Another thing we found out is the guns cannot register a hit and fire at the same time. If you are in sync with your opponent both of you will be shooting but neither will take damage until you change your rate of fire to desync with your opponent.

They probably turn off the sensor briefly when you fire so it doesn't detect itself as being shot lol, when indoors laser tag IR beams have a tendency to bounce off of everything. Depending on the specific laser tag set you're using, you sometimes can even hit people behind a couch or something by reflecting off of the wall behind them!

Hasbro worked with Tiger Electronics to make a Laser tag series in 2004 with hosting features. The series was called “Lazer Tag Team Ops” (or LTTO for short) Then in 2008 they released the Phoenix LTX with backwards compatibility with LTTO. Then in 2012, they made a blaster with a camera, and with LTTO compatibility. But failed miserably. Then this 2018, this.

Bautista Irarrazaval I don’t know. The Phoenix LTX is the only blaster I *do not* have in my “Lazer Tag” collection. The only blasters I have are 4 Deluxe Taggers, 1 IRT-2X, 1 Tag Master Blaster, and 2 “Lazer Tag Augmented Reality (2012)” taggers. I don’t have the AlphaPoint or DeltaBurst yet. Dueling weapons only: The basic flaw in this is the point target on the weapon.. no point in dodging or tactics really because in the end you're trying to hit that red dome and nothing else matters. Once folks grasp that the only thing to do with these (or at least with their predecessors which were ..from the looks of it..functionally identical) is to face off, standing up.. or even 'start back to back take 10 paces turn and fire' type dueling. I also hope they improved both the accuracy and the reliability of the IR beam and sensor module because the previous generations were pretty dodgy on that.

The idea of this is insane, love it, my only complain is the reciever circle, or range whatever you call it, is a bit too big, I was playing and it felt a bit... big? So I tested it, I mounted it on a stable post, and took the other pistol, and aimed at the ceiling.. no hit.. I aimed to the right at 90 degrees.. no hit.. moved closer to about 75 degrees.. no hit.. and only when I got to about 40 degrees, it started hitting, I mean I like the range because you don't have to be the best aimer in the world to hit your shots, but thats a bit toooo big no? I mean you don't even have to aim remotely close for it to register, you could be fighting one person and accidentally hit the other guy, without even aiming at him, I swear he could be behind you and you'd still hit in, idk if mine are a bit.. broken, I even tried changing the batteries, with no different result, idk if its intentional or if mines broken, but its a bit annoying how I could be miles away, and my friend gets a hit without even remotely aiming at me

it's not the IR beam that is big, it's the IR receiver area that is big. The beam is a narrow laser whereas the IR dome is a large sphere. It's meant to be big enough to cover a person which is does but yeah it is a bit big.

That looks like the best implementation of home laser tag by far. It sounds like it could be fun if you got enough people. Much better than the laser tag home kits they sold back in the 90s. The only thing that would make them cooler would be if they sold vests that could link up to the guns, and had rechargeable batteries, and actually shot a visible laser that could be seen if fog was present. Then you could buy these to set up your own laser tag arena... These things are really cool for what they are.
