The Underworld Awaits Us All is such a well-constructed album. It's like Nile's Rust In Peace and could become their best. Repeated listens bring great enjoyment.

GREAT review, Pete! 👍 Admittedly, I've been kinda lukewarm about the last couple of Nile releases, but this, THIS is a true return to form for the band! If it weren't for Ulcerate's 'Cutting the Throat of God' (my favorite death metal album of 2024), Nile would definitely be in contention for AOTY in the death metal category! Easily a 4,5 out of 5 album for me also.. 👌🤘

Very enthusiastic review, Pete, so even though death metal still hasn't seemed to capture a lot of my interest, this one has to go on the listening list. Usually listen to these while working in the yard but the excerpts I've played may require a first listen indoors. As always, appreciate the inclusion such a variety of music in the weekly new product reviews. There's always something new to try.

Fantastic production on this one. I'm more partial to the first assault, A-Side if you will, but B-Side has got some great doomy riffage and the outro fades out to the underworld! Naqada II ... currently my favorite track A Nile ranking would be cool!

Killer album, very diverse in sound. On several tracks there is clearly audible bass playing many interesting patterns with a variety of tones. Kinda new direction for them. Best album since Those Whom the Gods Detest, probably.

I have seen Nile many times. Love Karl's solo album too. I'm from the same area as him and use to run into him at like Wal-Mart and shit. Met him many times and he was always cool as fuck. They were at a local music store one time and the whole band signed my copy of Annihilation of the Wicked.
