This review covers the strengths and weaknesses of the weighted camera tripod mount, the OctoPad by Octopus Camera. This accessory can be used in a variety of ways with many different pieces of audio / visual equipment. I really enjoyed shooting time-lapses with it. Most of this video was shot with a Sony A6300 & Samsung Galaxy S8 with a few shots from the Canon 5D3. I was not paid by Octopus Camera to make this review.

Solid review! The OctoPad looks pretty sturdy... but I'm curious how long it took for you to trust it -- particularly on smooth surfaces such as that mailbox.

Zack Cooper thanks Zack! The mailbox wasn't on a very steep angle, the roof shingles kinda scared me but they gave a decent grip. I guess I sort of pressed it down and tried wiggling it to see if it held.

See, I would have been more confident on the roof due to said roughness... though the sheer height would probably lead to some added anxiety.

How did you do panning time lapse? I saw no motorized head.
