Got a late 06 model one now for over 10 years. Agree they are a fantastic machine. 6000 hours on it and apart from a ram seal, 2 solenoid valves and a fan belt tensioner we have had no other issues.

yep, some of the same here on our end. How's your pins/bushings? We have just put our second set into our 06 3420 and it's pushing around 9000 hours now. going on it's 3rd seat bottom as well. haha

I've always wanted one of these deere 3420s, I've run some of the new cats on some of our construction jobs and really enjoy them

Nice video here agree there very handy we dont own one but i have used them at my uncles place he has one like yours and also one that pivots in the middle like a pay loader but its more tippy. They are way better on fuel than a wheel loader BUT still cant lift near what a wheel loader can. Loading manure from a pile ill take my 644g any day over a tele handler. Loading from sloppy pen now that would be a different story. Each machine has their place though

Agreed- The wheel loader has the pins bushings and weight to tackle those awful jobs on a regular basis. We had a 544A for awhile, and it was kind of a slow bulky machine, but was so old that it wouldn't be a good comparison to the telehandlers. Worst part is that a decent wheel loader doesn't come cheap! Maybe someday we'll have a wheelloader back, but the telehandlers have just been so efficient for the abuse they take that it will be tough to fill their shoes in the next 5-10 years.

What oil do you recommend for the final drives? I just picked up a 3420 with 5300 hours on it. Thanks

Texas refinery ultra tech gear oil on the dliffs and finals. Use their utf red hyd oil in the trans. I'm a dealer for their oils if interested. dieselfume1@gmail.com

Do you still have your wheel loaders then?
@OldGlory17767 жыл бұрын
We have a couple tractors with loaders, but they don't see much action anymore. Just for pto work mostly. The telehandlers do everything else.

Merlo builds one with a rear 3 point and it might have a PTO. did you run a Manitou?
@OldGlory17767 жыл бұрын
I've been eyeing the Merlo's, they have them in the states now, and I'm hearing it's a matter of time before they get a dealer into my area. It would be the end of buying tractors for our operation.
