If you would have noticed a pattern most bourgeois anticommunist historians peddle two things the most (other than exaggerating excesses on the Red side often using shoddy sources and at times downplaying the popular nature of terror and class hatred): 1 They often downplay the atrocities, anti-semitism and nationalism of the Green bands that fought against the Bolsheviks. 2 Try to paint peasants as victims when middle peasant and kulak refusal to sell enough grain to the cities led urban areas to the brink of famine in early/mid 1918. Only requisitions helped fight off urban famine by late 1919. 3 If they are not stupid enough to openly back the Whites they try to confuse the reader into thinking the Reds were as brutal and repressive as Whites if not more.

From what I've seen of his channel, it seems like he's (HM) probably just some "left" com, and I get the feeling that when he accuses FinnBol of "dishonesty," it's likely him just being like "This doesn't line up with anticommunist "scholarship," so he's lying!" I could be wrong, but let's be real, that's extremely common with the anti-ML crowd, haha.

Great Video 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 Hey, just out of curiosity, are you planning on doing a review of Michael Parenti’s bibliography sometime in the future? He is, after all, a very talented writer and influential Marxist scholar.

Hi TFB! Longtime listener, thank you for your remarkably consistent critical historical thinking work! I just had an account I like on BlueSky recommend The Socialist System: The Political Economy of Communism by János Kornai and it looks anti-communist but well-written. If that is indeed the case, I would love to see your take on Mr Kornai's work

@@thefinnishbolshevik2404 Yeah. Even those who aren't communists like Simon Pirani demolish Pipes work. Same with Volkogonov's post 1991 work (apart from a few important facts).
