These videos have been so helpful to let me know I'm on the right track. Not knowing anything about PM (outside of planning my own personal projects) I decided to take the Google course to get the foundations down regarding agile methodologies and frameworks. I want to be well versed so I could understand the language first.

Hi, I am about to get mi Google PM Cert. It has helped me a lot in the career change from the military 🪖 to the civilian 👨🎓 labour market. While taking the courses I realized I DO HAVE Project management EXPERIENCE, but I did not call it that way, in the armed forces PM is called "Mission acomplishment" and through the Google PM Cert I have been able to transfer knowledge and aquire the right vocabulary to get understood in my new work environment. ❓Could you give some tips on how to document and register mi PM experience in order to apply for de PMP certification ❓❓❓ greetings from Mexico.

That’s great and I love that learning more about the technical lingo helped you understand that you were already doing project management!

I would be transparent and document what you did for PMI. I don’t think there are any special tricks. Good luck!

Pet peeve, "it depends" is never a really a short answer, it requires a explanation... good video overall though, very helpful.

Have you seen more data around ROI and organizations recognizing the Google Coursera certification as a 4 year degree equivalent?

Exactly what alternatives were you talking about regarding L 0? Before getting the certification, besides the coursera cert

When you sign up for the certificates on PMI does it include video lesson etc to prepare us for the exam, similar to coursera?

For the education requirements of the CAPM, if you were to obtain that education through Google would you bypass the exam for CAPM? or you’d have to take both Google and CAPM exams?
@douglaswestbyАй бұрын
They are two different certifications with different paths and study material (yes, there is a lot of overlapping knowledge), so yes, you need to take separate examination paths.

Hi, Could you give your thoughts on the Comptia Project+?
@RecipeforSuccess1 Жыл бұрын
Hi Hector! Sure, it looks like the certificate is industry specific geared towards IT PMs who manage smaller projects and also is adopted by a few very specific organizations. This defers from PMI whose focus is industry agnostic and for any size project. It ultimately depends of course on your goals and career aspirations. I hope that answers your question!

Hi I have a question about how to prove the experience requirements for PMP ? What do I need to ask my employer for to get that experience requirement? Is it just a simple recommendation letter?
@RecipeforSuccess1 Жыл бұрын
Hi Houssein-in my experience, you self report your experience for the PMP. There’s a chance they may audit you and in that case you will actually need to go back to your previous employers and get written sign off from them. However, that is not needed for the initial application. Hope that helps!

Hey Emma, Can I use some of my college courses as PDU hours to get the 23 needed for the CAPM?
@RecipeforSuccess1 Жыл бұрын
This is a good question! I’d have to look back at PMI, but I think it depends on what the courses are in and if they are PM focused.

I just got CAPM this month and plan to get PSM in a week or two. After that I may get product owner, ITIL, and ICP agile coach certification. Do you do consultations or private coaching calls?

How long did it take you to complete the CAPM?

Hi 👋 , can you give me some suggestions regarding my profile ? I recently completed my bachelor's degree in Mining Engineer from India. Now can I make a career switch by becoming an IT Project Manager ? I got an offer letter from a Canadian university for the PM course. My only concern is that I'm from a non technical background so will it be difficult for me ? There are already a lot of IT PMs in the market. Can you suggest any tools or software that I can learn while I'm in college.
@tayawouters4505 Жыл бұрын
hi, but you are an engineer, it's pretty technical. you might be working as a PM at a manufacturing company in the future
@RecipeforSuccess1 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mining Nation-you might want to consider taking an introductory PM course online to see if you find it challenging. There are others who found the Google PM certificate via Coursera helpful especially since it was made in mind for those without IT backgrounds.
@miningnation8014 Жыл бұрын
@@tayawouters4505 Hi Taya! You might think that mining engineering is technical, but in reality it's not. Our job is to just monitor the work that's going on the site, and I don’t find any growth or opportunity in it.
