Beautifully done sir! I agree btw, that this is one of RVG's finest recordings. (One thing...if you are hearing the drums in the LEFT channel, your channels are reversed.)

Thanks for the in-depth review. I listened and immediately ordered a copy. I had no idea how restrained the music was. Very nice indeed.

Well done! I share your review of the remastered TP reissue. Not to everyone‘s taste but to mine. Fully agree to your „bold“ statement that this is one of the best, if not the best sounding TPs. And nearly free of unwanted noise. And: My copy is the most flat TP vinyl pressing I have been spinning since a long time. Unfortunately, too many came warped over the past few years with a lot of hustle for multiple exchanges. Was close to giving up on these RTI-pressed TPs given the price-quality expectations. This one might heal my pains.

Whilst I mostly buy jazz these days, I agree that Jim White is a great artist. I was lucky enough to see him in Cardiff (Cymru/Wales) years ago.

Another fine segment WCB. I found it interesting that you described it as Avant guard. I'd call it Post-bop. Why? Because, in my view, it contains and mixes elements of Bebop, Hard-bop, Modal and yes Free Jazz while not necessarily being any one of these styles. By the way, I immediately grabbed this album and love it. By the way, I'm looking forward to seeing the reveal of your new turntable setup!

The KZbinr 45 RPM from Germany just obtained a good mono cartridge and his results were that it makes a huge difference on vintage pressings which were pressed with mono cartridges in mind but no difference or lacking with modern mono pressings which are evidently pressed for stereo cartridges. So since you will be getting a mono cartridge it will be interesting to see how that changes the comparison to the vintage mono version

I can't wait to experience the difference first hand! I'll have to seek out his video to get his reaction.

@@jazzvinylcollector Post 70's mono LP's are cut using Stereo cutter heads so anything cut after that era is cut with a Stereo cutter head. Mono carts are pretty much a waste of money playing back post 70's mono LP's.

Sorry to point this out but you might want to check either your mic or level settings. The past few videos have had the same issues. Otherwise, another great video 👍

Had this on pre-order since February with AMZ & Juno, no copies seem to have been available in the UK AMZ say June! not great service especially after the last Lee Morgan pressing disaster! Not very happy with Blue Note
