Don't sleep on this reissue with the bonus tracks! I put it on as soon as it came in the mail and was blown away. It is just such a clean recording and the bonus disc is amazing as well. Great video 👍

I have the VMP Cadet box and got this edition on CD to have the extras and a digital copy. The CDs sound fantastic!

To me this is best sounding version of this album I have ever heard and have I owned the original and the Bernie version. It’s warmer and knocks really hard. But even if that wasn’t the case the extra disco alone makes this new version a must have. These are some best out takes included on any reissue I have ever purchased.

I’d gotten the CD just to try it out and fell in love with this record. I’d been waiting to hear something beyond Discogs notes that describe its reissues. Thanks for such a valuable post.

Damn it man! Now I want this! I already have the VMP set - but - I am intrigued by the additional tracks, this is one of my all time favorite albums. Excellent review.

@@PiecesofVinyl well the challenge you and I have is we already own the box set, so does it make sense to have an additional copy when we aren’t exactly prepared to cull the box… even though this album was one of the top 1-2 reasons I got the cadet box to begin with

I’m glad I waited and didn’t order the Cadet box; there were only a couple of records in that box I wanted so I passed. Haven’t gotten a chance yet to listen to this one. Hope it’s not warped!

Interested they mentioned the compressor and limiter they used. Those are fantastic components and hard to find as well

@@Valleyplant they did indeed sound impressive and more of what I took away from it was the intentional process of using those components but I honestly lack the knowledge of precisely what they are and what they do

I’m thinking about getting it. I’ve always wanted a copy of that album. Is there a picture of the master tape? Those are the rules now you have to show a picture of the original analog tape otherwise forget it 😂

WCB- Just like RSD & Black Friday releases, another extreme example of "Marketing BS"! Sorry, but the younger generation is being led to believe they cannot live to experience the Music, unless it is a "Deluxe edition"!!!.....So tired of a fantastic hobby of collecting & listening to Jazz music has to be taken over by "Profit driven executives" trying to squeeze every last dollar out of the under-experienced generation listeners! Pick up one of the reissue copies, enjoy the Music and move on!!!!
