Edit: Before I get anymore replies about adjusting my headset, I was talking about the width of the headset not the length. I just got these and they’re very good, but they pinch/squish the top of your head and around your ears. It’s very uncomfortable. 😖 Sound and feature wise they’re lovely. Just be careful buying them in terms of comfort!

Had the 600 gen one for about three years,felt plastic,but sound was great,back then that was pretty much the only option for Xbox wireless ,but I liked them,though they finally broke,at that weak pivot point,so I'm glad they've reinforced that. Probably get these ,on the fence between these and Arctics 1 (the new one's) and HyperX Flight X. Most likely these one's,the super human hearing is awesome Great video man,thanks!

I upgraded my TB Stealth 600 Gen 1 since the head brace broke, bought Gen 2 and man it feels like it doesn’t have any bass anymore. Gen 1 sound quality is way better IMO.

Great review. Finally someone who focused on the sound quality. The Gen1’s were so low in volume. Did you have to change the software to take it to 100% volume or is that right out of the box?

Thanks! And no extra software necessary. It's that loud out of the box. It can get ear piercingly loud in fact. Especially in SuperHuman mode, the gunshots will rattle your eardrums at Max volume. Just make sure the internal volume on the PS4 is set to max (the manual will tell you how to do that). And for the Switch, make sure you use the volume rocker on the Switch console and set it to Max volume. Then enjoy your hearing while it lasts...😂

@@elimbymonte Superhuman mode: Push the Power button once quickly. Like 1/4 of a second. If it makes a Rising beep, Superhuman is On. Lowering beep. Superhuman is Off. As for max volume: Push and hold PS button to get the side menu. Go to the Sound tab. Scroll to the Volume meter and max it out. 👍

They don't list any "virtual surround" mode. But the sound that came out during Fortnite was directional when you wear them. Not sure if thats that same as I didn't have the old ones.

i bought them like one month ago. the only thing i dont like is you have two cogs. one for game audio and the second for chataudio. the chataudio cog is just setting your mic sound level up. you cant turn down the volume of the chat audio in the party. the stealth 700 had this function. and you cant connect the 600s with the turtle beach app. only with 700s. thats a shame. but overall a nice headset

They have a specific version for the Xbox. This wont work. Their xbox one connects to Microsoft's proprietary wireless system which is why Turtle Beach had to make a specific xbox version.

My PS4 Gold headset dongle broke so I picked up one of these and I'm so unhappy with it. You have to pull the dongle out and place it back in every time you want to use this with the PS4. It doesn't tell you the battery life on the PS4, and when you turn it off it doesn't switch back to TV audio. On PC, the headset will shut off after a very short period of silence and there's no setting too change that time period.

Agreed on the lack of battery meter and auto shut off on a computer. As for audio switching, yes, the PS4 system leaves it as "output through headphones" when you turn it off and back on. As for having to pull the dongle out, it shouldn't do that. It should always be ready to connect to the headsets even after the dongle light shuts off and even if you set audio output to TV. Just give it a few extra seconds when you power on the headsets because the dongle needs to reactivate from sleep mode. But if you set audio output to TV, then connect your headphones: just turn on the headphones, wait for the connecting sound/solid blue light on headphones, then go into your PS4 settings and switch audio out back to headphones. It woulda been nice if the PS4 would auto switch between headphones and tv based on if it were connected or not though.

It depends on individual tastes. I find I can hear what I need to stay competitive while using Normal or Bass boost mode. SuperHuman enhances footsteps and such, but everything else sounds kinda watered down and flat because of that. Not my prefered mode.

Go into your audio settings for the headset and adjust the Mic Level. The higher you set it, the better it will pick up your voice, but it will also be more sensitive to other sounds like a squeaky chair. I show what that setting looks like in my follow up video to this where I connect it to MAC and do a Mic check. Watch the end with the Spiderman gameplay and you'll see what I'm talking about.

If thats not your jive, then the upcoming Stealth 700 will be able to connect to an app where you can turn Mic Monitoring off. But they also more expensive too. So its a give and take unformtunatley. Woulda been nice to have a button to turn Mic Monitor off.

I would say it's above average. I've tried $100 headphones that feel cheaper, have less features, and sound worse than these. The sound on these are clear and distortion free at normal listening levels. At max volume, well, its too loud for me to listen too so I cant say. 😂

It's a unfortunate feature of these headsets. Can't be undone. You just have to manually switch audio output on your Playstation settings everytime you connect or disconnect them.

I need help with my stealth 700 gen 2 and had the same issue with 600 gen 2. When ever i have the mico usb Connected and have the headset off the tv sound wont come back. I have to remove the usb so i can get sound from the tv. I already tried 3 different gen 2's and updated them. Do you know what it could be?

Nothing wrong with the headsets or the Playstation. Its just a thing the Playstation does. When the USB is attached, the Sound Output is automatically switched to the Turtle Beach Headphones regardless of if they are on or not. All you have to do is go into your sound setting and switch it from Headphone output to Tv output. And when you turn the headphones on, you'll likely have to do the same thing, but in reverse. Its kinda annoying to have to do that each time, but thats all thats going on. No faulty equipment on your end.

Shouldn't ever use a charger from another piece of electronics. Each rechargeable battery has a certain charge rate. If you are connecting a charger that puts out more amps than required to charge, you greatly reduce the lifespan of the battery, not to mention the risk of fire. Remember that the battery is soldered to the board, so bad battery means a replacement headset. I had turtle beach's stealth 800 for the ps4 and the price doesn't justify the headset needing replaced within a year if you game a lot. Steelseries has a headset that takes REMOVABLE lithium ion batteries. I get 20 hours of use from the two batteries it comes with. You should compare turtle beach stealth 700 to the steelseries pro wireless. Roughly the same prise, but I find the steelseries the better headset for the price.
