Thank you for this review! It was helpful! But there are still parts of the book which I didn't understand because I'm not that familiar with the European history, and I hope you could help me with that if you still remember. What's up with the lice and the leaves that are mentioned? And Captain Pjele's kidney problems and him saying they're lucky to have him? And making cemeteries - is that related to just killing people? Did the people actually drink blood or is that an allegory for something as well? And what exactly does she mean by heart-beast?
